Yes, it is a horrendous mistake. That further weakens my confidence in our front office. It is a mistake that should bot be overlooked.

I am sure you are up for that job.....but do you think it would really have helped anyways sending Odor down in May

The front office seems to be very stubborn about things. I think they viewed smyly as the “last hope” for the Cole hamels trade, but it looks like an absolute certainty that we sent Hamels to the cubs and got literally nothing of value out of it.

Smyly was not part of the Hamels trade...

Rangers acquire lefty Smyly from Cubs

Only up for the job as much as you are...not at all.

Yes, it very well could have helped. We cannot find out now. That is a bad mistake that the front office made.

So Martin Perez has gone back to being pretty bad... hadn't heard much in a while...
Okay I was only thinking starters but you're right they might.

I've always found the return on investment for relievers to be better than starters anyway

Couldn't have hurt. Now he has to consent to being sent down.

True but maybe he is put in IL and made to do a rehab stint. That is my guess.

Probably true but with Minor, Lynn, Chavez and Kelley I think we should clear 6 to 7 prospects

Lots of bad mouthing DDJ still, but he's batting .327/.400/.381/.781 in June... he's not the problem right now, so until Gallo gets back, he's probably in CF, maybe even a while after

His problem is Santana’s June is a lot better than his.

You’re right tho.

DDJ has done what the team has wanted him to do. They sent him down to work on things. He’s responded and played well since coming back up. I’d probably send Mazara or condor down when gallo needs a spot.

Condor just hasn’t been getting it done with the bat this year and the “big chill” always does barely enough to get by, but it’s frustrating because when we gave him the corner outfield spot, we were expecting a solid corner outfielder to develop. Mazara’s fielding is probably below average, his speed is average at best, his hitting is probably bottom in the league overall. I’m just not sold on the guy and I’ve given him a pass plenty of times.

DDJ has played a lot better since coming back up. I don't have an issue with him right now. I do have an issue with Odor. They sent DDJ down, what's with the reluctance send Odor down. They will not hardly sit him.

He needed to spend the rest of the year down there and he needed to learn to play the OF so he wouldn't be a one dimensional bench player.

Hr is hitting well right now, but like Odor, we have seen him have hot streaks before and then plummet.

He gets special treatment. Hard to accept, but JD or the owners have a massive hard on for him, even tho casual fans and other teams in the league all know he’s terrible.

It’s pretty remarkable actually. Lots of people were saying the 21 games in 20 day stretch would be the death of this team. It clearly hasn’t. Just 3 games to go and we get a much needed offday. We’ve won or tied in 7 straight series. We were due for some luck with the pitching matchups, and we’re not facing Giolito this weekend when we play the White Sox.

We’ve had a lot of deadweight and black holes. On the pitching side, you’d think the cubs sent drew smyly to come in to sabotage us. Every 5th day he would tax our bullpen, anger the fans, disappoint the players, and turn winnable games into blow out losses.

We’ve also received almost nothing out of the 2nd base and catcher positions offensively.

They will not see a WS with the Rangers. Lot of banter for naught.
