The first projected 53 man roster

Way too early of course, but hey, this is the offseason, so even meaningless projections make for discussion.

It would be kinda weird to see Fitts and Irving gone already too

I highlighted those two names in particular. On Nall, he never did make the 53 man roster, even tho I believe he led the league in rushing during last year's preseason. So technically he's not a cut or release from the roster, unlike Irving, who I thought played pretty well last year in his limited number of appearances. I thought with the release of Michael Burton, Nall might have a crack at the FB spot. But if the Bears eventually decide to go with 4 RBs, it may be hard to justify carrying a 5th, even if he would primarily man the FB position. Still, I like the kid and would love to see him nab a spot somewhere.

Why they have Irving off the roster is a bit perplexing, especially being the Bears recently re-signed him. And the writer thinks he'll be replaced by UDFA Chuck Harris? Anything's possible, but I'd hardly call that a given.

I'll give my worthless opinion tho on one possible casualty currently showing on the roster: Jonathan Bullard. Not sure how his release would affect the cap, which might otherwise keep him safe. I'd stop short of calling him a bust, but unfortunately he has underperformed during his entire stay with the Bears. It would not surprise me in the least that at some point before the season gets under way he receives his walking papers.

Rather than start a new thread, I figured I might as well piggyback off the initial post which also contained a predicted 53 man roster. I like this one better, but a couple of mini surprises: It has Emmanuel Hall making the squad, whereas I think the Bears are going to stash him on IR for the year and replace him with the 'other' Hall - and even then that's assuming we break camp with 7 WRs. I'm also pleasantly surprised that they have Nall and Denmark making the roster, altho I can see both spending many weeks on the inactive squad. I'd love to see Nall go at it when it matters. I think he could have an impact with the running game if given a chance.

I am excited to see if Javon Wims can get some playing time. The kid can play. Get him on the field.

I thought he was pretty impressive, both in the preseason and with his limited opportunities during the regular season as well.
