The Leure trade saves the Bucks only 2.5M of cap space for this season, but the entire of 12.5M of Snell's salary for next season.

Now the Bucks have both Leure and Ilyasova expiring in their roster (Ilyasova's third season isn't guaranteed) at salaries on the books that add up to 16.5M...

Since both contracts are expiring, they are both good looking "salary fillers" to be used on another (or two) trade by the Bucks, or in a 3 team deal that would gain a couple of future picks back...

Let's unpack this trade a little bit.

Nobody argued against you that Snell would be traded.

You have been claiming that Tony Snell is a "trade asset".

We have all told you repeatedly that Tony Snell is bad contract with negative trade value and that to trade him, Milwaukee would have to attach an asset to unload his bad contract. Milwaukee was never going to get something of value back for Snell.

Well, last night's deal saw Snell + the Bucks first round pick for Leuer, a guy who fell out of the Pistons rotation last 2 seasons and could even be waived by Milwaukee. Leuer has no value at all beyond the fact that his bad contract is expiring.

Yes, it is a good trade for Milwaukee because they created space. But like we have been saying all along, Tony Snell is a liability because of his bad contract.

You were very wrong about Snell's trade value. We were right.

For the purpose of accountability, we will define a "stupid prediction" as one where multiple NBA forum regulars have told you that you are full of crap.

The official Buckalis stupid prediction count is now at:

Buckalis = 0-3

Wrong about AD being traded
Wrong about the Nets being the team AD was traded to
Wrong about Snell's trade value

Everyone has been saying they will have to attach picks to dump his contract.

They did.

I guess Detroit thinks they can do something with the 30th pick even though they have been dreadful at drafting I guess.

I don't see it.

He will likely make a decent amount less for a longer deal for this upcoming season but I don't see him going 15

Have you factored in the Bucks appeal? Clearly everyone wants to play for them at a massive discount

I guess you delibaretely forgot to mention that you have already admitted that Pistons are also winners in this trade and took 14.5M of his salary in their books TO USE him on their roster...

and then it took a king's offer out of the NETs for AD for the Lakers to beat and OVERPAY as to get AD in a trade that the Pelicans (clearly) won... I guess every team would consider moving any player if they WIN out of a trade...

Therefore stop calling people names... Understand? ...stupid!

The Pistons are irrelevant. They have no shot at contending in the next 2 years so they took on salary to add a first round pick.

It is a good trade for them.

Back to Snell's trade value:

Please answer this direct questions:

1) who is the more productive player today, Tony Snell or Jon Leuer?

Oh good lord.

You have literally no idea what the value of expiring contracts is. And you also don't understand that the last thing that the Bucks are going to do is trade 2 expiring contracts for picks because that would mean they are talking on longer bad contracts.

The only "value" that Ilyasova and Leuer provide for the Bucks is if they want to make a trade and they need to match contracts which is unlikely.
