We need new announcers in a very big way.

No, I was referring to him and Juando being minors when we signed them. Just youngsters, teenagers.

Ok thanks. Guess I am a bit slow on the draw

Lynn has pitched a good game. Certainly has been much more than expected thus far into the season.:yo:

I really don’t get the top to bottom all out support campaign for Roogie Odor.

He made a great play with his glove in the 9th inning when the game was pretty much already decided in a blow out. Grieve said that you will be hard pressed to see a better play in the infield and Raymond seemed to gush about the play longer than an announcer normally would.

Game ends.....

Rangers live starts and the first thing they talk about is odor’s defensive play. There must be some kind of all out effort to prop this guy up. It’s unprecedented. He went 0-4 tonight.

Don't worry about what they say about their boy Roogie. You might have a better case if you more concerned about powder blue uni's collars and puff sleeves.

I just don’t get it. Does he sell tons of jerseys? Is he the kids favorite player? Do tons of Venezuelans flood the ball park every game to see him?

His play on the field doesn’t even remotely match up to the amount of love and accolades he receives.

Or they think he has talent, want him to find a permanent solution in a season that, despite the fact that we have the 2nd wild card right now, doesn't mean much bc they know that this team isn't very good, especially in the pitching department, and that what we've done so far is not sustainable, and that Santana, while a useful bench player probably is more of a UTIL guy that could play almost everyday spelling people at various positions and that Logan Forsythe, while useful, is not in long term plans

I believe some of what you are seeing is born out of an affinity with the notion that our front office can do no substantial wrong. Not 100 percent of it, but a good portion of it.

I think the front office doesn’t have the ability to realize and correct their own mistakes. It’s arrogance or hubris for sure.

They can cheerlead and turd polish as much as they want, but odor has to do it himself. They can’t do it for him.

I guess I should just let it go. The broadcast used to be much worse with those Jim Knox segments. I actually bought mlb TV so that I could listen to the other teams broadcast crew and avoid his squirrelly ass. The reality is that nobody cares to hear about the couple who lives in Alaska who drove down to watch ranger games during their honey moon. Big whoop.

Been saying this for MONTHS, but then you say you will but you just can't help it but to beat a dead horse

Definitely true re this season is about the development even if Odor but perhaps a MILB stint like Mendez had would be effective. He had really bad pitch recognition last night and seems to get worse when the ump calls strikes out of the zone. Maybe shorten his swing a bit and focus onthe pitch spin etc. Santana swing is much more effortless but he does have power. We are in the middle of June so even accounting for Odor notorious slow starts whatever he is doing is not recreating himself.
I think it would be terrible to just DFA him at this point but trying something new is not bad

It may be time to send him down for the rest of the year and let him learn to play OF. Then they can bring him back next year as a bench player.

I probably do talk about it too much, but you have to admit it is a big storyline of this season. This team is good because of the veterans. The young players (with the exception of gallo) are not doing as well as expected.
