I hadn't visited Las Vegas since the early 1980s and the change is amazing. Then, the boulevard had large set back casino hotels, huge outdoor parking lots, and wide open spaces. It's like NYC, now, almost. Spent a half day here and had dinner at Joe's Seafood in Caesar's. Wanted to visit my old haunts at the Stardust casino and sports book but found it was imploded in 2006. Currently being replaced with Resorts World, under construction.

Caesar's has always been my favorite with the Roman theme and decor.

Surprising I guess, but I've never been to LV.

Wife nor I are big gamblers so it's never been on our radar...I do play golf and I've heard the golf is good (and expensive) so maybe we'll do a Vegas trip eventually.

I did no gambling at all while there. I miss the free parking right at the main casinos. I did join the Caesars Diamond club to get a parking discount plus a whopping $10 off my $19.50 Beefeater martini. :pound:

Oh...we would probably invest out standard $20-$40 each and then we're done when it's gone. I'm hearing more about concerts, golf, etc. I think Carlos Santana is playing out a gig @ the House of Blues...we were out of town when he was here so we might fly out for that is we go anytime soon.

I've never been either. I feel like I need to go once just for the experience.

I went for the first time in the early 90's, didn't go back until early 2000s, and the change in those 10 years was incredible. Almost didn't look like the same place. I've been 4 times total, and returning in September.

My first visit you could find dealer stands on all 17's everywhere, now it's almost impossible. A disturbing trend is they're reducing the payouts on blackjack from 3/2 to 6/5 pretty much everywhere as well.

Not a fan of the "mandatory" resort fees either, up to $50 a night at some places.

Weird if you think about it. Back in the day when it was the only place to legally gamble they gave tons away. Now that they've got competition from 1000s of casinos opening all over the country, they're trying to soak up every last dollar.
