Just bought a 2015 Subaru Forester. It was to replace our aging 1997 Nissan Pathfinder (which we bought brand new). The real issue with the Pathfinder is that it was costing us about $400 dollars in gas a month plus a shitload of repairs as an aging vehicle would. The Subaru will likely cost $225 on gas per month and we won't have to do too much for repairs (hopefully...lol) for a few years. In effect, the saving of the Subaru will more than cover our monthly payments on it as opposed to what our monthly costs were for the Pathfinder; cost/benefit analysis en chit.

My Toyota RAV4 has 31,000 miles on it. It’s a 2016 Hybrid Limited. On the Friday before Memorial Day I ordered a 2019 RAV4 Limited Hybrid in Ruby Flare Pearl color. (red metallic) The 2016 is gray. She really never was crazy about the gray metallic after we had it. We also thought that we should trade it before it deprecated any more. Because it was hit, but repaired, it loses some of its value. (the Car Fax) even though it was repaired perfectly and wasn’t my fault. This one should get around 40 mpg. Should arrive around the first week to the third week in July. The 2016 is and always has been trouble free, 193 hp. The 2019 has even more. Manufactured in the factory in Japan.

I was supposed to buy an SUV this year was going to get the Honda Pilot Touring (7) passenger in white with black leather. But the wife decided we need to do a remodel of the house which we have budgeted 85 to 105k for, so the Avalon roles on.

Taking a real look at the new RAV4. Not sure if AWD would be required up nort in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Hell yeah if I lived there AWD would be an absolute, if you choose AWD keep in mind that Subaru does have the best AWD systems on the planet. The are a bit more pricey then Toyota.

I always tell my wife can't go wrong buying Toyota, Honda or Subaru.

Bought a 2007 Seqouia back in 2009. Had almost no problems with it, and it had 31,000 miles. Had it 10 years, put 200k miles on it, and it still runs great. tires, gas and oil. Probably going to give it my daughter for her first car soon, and feel good enough about the vehicle to feel safe with her not being broken down somewhere.
I had chevys, and fords, and even a jeep. I will only buy toyota from now on.

my wife always buys SUV's. I personally don't care for them. I prefer a nice sedan but some of the SUV's they are coming out with are pretty nice.

Yeah I am a Wagon Guy get the space of and SUV plus the ride of a Sedan. I love the Volvo V90 but have to work a few extra years if I want that beauty so I half ass crossed that off the future car list. Almost every review I read on the Outback states it drives more like a car than an SUV so there is interest there. Plus it has a built in cross rail system so I can add a Thule for extra space, ie my ole ladies baggage.

My GLS has been very good, as expected for $90k! There's really nothing special. It's just very safe, reliable and will do everything right for the next quarter million miles.

It says, "Yes, I'm better than you...but not trying to flaunt it."

I'm pretty sold on the Subaru. I'll be buying brand new this October. That being said, not sure if I go with the 2019 or the new 2020 XT model Outback. The new designs look amazing in the 2020. Some new changes in the exterior as well. The changes they made in the 2020 probably is why I will go purchase the new XT.

And I think that comes with the 2.4 liter Turbo
