Good grief. What an embarrassing asswhoopin'. After a good effort and come-from-behind-win yesterday, the Dildoes come out of nowhere. BTW, Harper sucked yesterday in the field. Missed a pop fly he could have caught if he would have used both hands instead of trying to be totally dumbass cool or whatever and then he totally missed on a bad hopper. Again, I am continuing to believe we paid way to much for this dolt.

Absolutely a total embarrassment today. What followers of the Phillies thought they had chance with the pitchers they were going to use and the lineup they had. Knapp and Williams both could not hit in Tee Ball. Plus we all know how much Kapler can get a team to play at high level of intensity.

Yeah, what a pathetic exhibition of ML baseball. And I believe this team is going to the post season. :doh:

The loss of McCutchen will be a factor along with the decline of Franco, but the unreliable pitching is the main concern as you've said many times.

Still, relievers coming off the IL will help, plus Phils can make key hitting/pitching additions moves by the trade deadline so real hope remains.

It's not about who I would have gone after, it's about being smart. As Middleton said, he was willing to spend stupid money, so far so good on the stupid part.
I am on the record as having been against signing Harper.
I had no issues with signing Cutch although they overpaid. Segura was an acceptable move as was Realmuto but they put a dent in the farm system... but still ok. The BIGGER problem is that they overestimated their offensive production as well as overestimating their starting. pitching. Good pitching trumps good hitting.
Middleton meddled.
Klentak overestimated players.
Kapler can't manage nor can he relate. He is the king of trophy giving. Buffoon
Both the hitting and pitching coaches can't coach.
I played baseball for 15 years in my youth, coached some, was recruited and watched a lifetime of the game. I feel I have a very good handle on baseball. This regime is the baseball version of the Flyers.
Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The one point I agree with you the most is about Kapler. He never seems to have the pulse of the game and it seems like almost every decision he makes does not turn out well. The team has so many games were they seem so flat it just seems like he cannot motivate them. As to the front office if they actually think they have good starting pitching and bullpen then they are in the wrong job.

Yeah, but it’s up to the players in the game to do what’s expected. Franco has become lost once again. Kapler’s fault. Vinnie still sucking big time. Kapler’s fault. Harper, still in a slight funk. You know who. How come Williams never busted out? OBPs and BAs have declined. Fucken Kapler. He’s the easiest guy to blame. Do experienced adult millionaires need to be motivated? How does one teach a manager not to allow players to get injured? I’m trying to figure it all out. :scratch:

Kapler, the manager, sets the direction and purpose of a franchise and he has done little in this department. Then it is up to the professional players to carry-it out on the field. The disconnect here is apparently Kapler has done little to set the direction and purpose for the club and the players then just basically do what they want on the field and who really gives a shit. They are getting paid.

He just seems that he can not motivate them and they are just waiting for his next bizarre move to cost them another game. Getting rid of him cannot hurt as things cannot get any worse.Even if he is not to blame whatever future results without him will either be better or the same so just do it.
