I'm going with the Pelicans. Everyone knew they had to trade AD and he's been vocal about going free agent afterwards so they didn't have much leverage. To get the #4 overall pick, former lottery picks and a couple of #1's going forward is a nice haul all things considered.

Agree... I doubt that the Lakers are much better than the Pels were this season with AD, Randle and Jrue... Bron is aging and the Pels already have C.Wood that can be 90% of what AD was for them within the season...
Depending on Zion's development, the Pels can be contenders for the West from this season if they do all things right...

I also heard they're looking at trading the #4 pick. Not sure if that's to get more picks or try and get good fast. Lebron is getting up there but let's see what an actual entire off season of rest does for him. Vegas already has the Lakers as 7-2 favorites to sin it all next year.

Both teams won.

As I posted on another thread...

In any trade, both GM's want to be able to go to their owner and say "We won the trade, this is why..."

Both Griffin and Pelinka can do that.

Griffin can tell Gayle Benson that he got some nice young talent and 3 first round picks (including this years #4) for a guy who wasn't going to be re-signing anyway.

Pelinka can tell Jeanie that he got a top 7 player in the league who hasn't hit his prime yet, to add to Lebron, kept the player who so far has been the best of the young core and still have enough cap space to add some quality players to fill out the roster around them.

Vegas should wait until the off~season is over if you ask me... Good they are starting the Bucks 2nd than the 1/100 they did last season... They seem to be learning some, but not fast enough...

They always have the odds up there for people to bet if they're in town.

I'm surprised the Lakers gave up so much.

Pelicans won this trade. Lakers basically gave up their future for a player that won't adapt to the LA pressure. Bad trade for the Lakers cause the Pelicans fleeced em good.

Trading for picks is never a good idea. 2/3 will be low value.

And New Orleans isn't going to ever be a winner. Nobody will stick around that shithole long enough for it to happen if they did hit on the picks.

Nice job by NO for continuing to play along though. Inconsequential franchises are necessary. Like Milwaukee, Washington and Sacramento.

Did Randle opt in?

You forgot the CAVs and the Raptors...

Nope.

Toronto is a major market, they matter. To the NBA and basketball in general.

There are a handful of franchises that kinda just exist for the sake of the rest of the league. I named three of the obvious ones.
