Really like the idea of DLaw and quinn beating down QBs. IMO Quinn is an upgrade over Gregory

I think we resign him and don't need to explore the trade route. If we don't it will significantly hurt us this year.

On you other point. The Cowboys did NOTHING wrong IMO. They gave him $17M last year and at worst are offering $20.5M this year for one year and at best $120M over 6 years. I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling the least bit sorry for Tank and I don't in any way whatsoever think the Cowboys are wrong to tag him again or to offer him $20M per year for 5 or 6 years. This is all Tank. If he wants to sit out, then screw him. It makes him no better than Bell who lost a lot of money by sitting out. These players are more self absorbed and stupid by the year.:2cents:

Thanks for your input Jarntt always welcome to read another point of view.

Who knows what will happen I just hate to see Tank walk and the Cowboys get just a comp pick in return if that since those are also based on playing time and other factors the NFL keeps secret.
And I agree that some Players are so self absorbed they look really dumb. How much the agents play in that is a ? Above my pay grade.
Cowboys have done nothing wrong I agree but my thought process was they could have signed him even b4 tagging him last year to a deal that was more cap friendly but maybe they tried quietly and we have not heard about it or I missed the news.
It amusing that some Cowboys fans are now voicing concern about the Cowboys being 2 conservative myself included at times. When all you have to do is look at the Campo years and remember what it was like to be in Cap Hell with nothing to show for it.

It is ironic how conservative we now seem to be with regards to the cap. I do like this approach better, but where I think we are still lacking is holding onto our own too long. Are we better off with Earl or with Lee, Witten and Hurns? I don't know the answer. I know the impact of Thomas on the field is easily more than those 3 combined, but those 3 are clearly 3 of the best clubhouse guys you can have. same for Crawford. He isn't worth his $10M cap hit and we could have used that toward another player. But, he is good and well liked. I'm not sure which is the better route to go, but we just don't seem to be able to let our guys go when their cap hits exceed their value and we also can't seem to get over the hump to playoff success. Loyalty is great, but it's a business as Lawrence is teaching us right now.

I would rather let DLaw go to another team (insert whatever draft compensation) and be able to keep Dak, Zeke, Byron, and Jaylon for their next contracts (5+ years). I don't see this guy as a top 5 defender, and if you want to press me, he isn't even top defender on our team. He doesn't have that impact that top players have.
Hell, here's an idea. Trade him for two 2nds and a DE that costs only a few million. Sign Suh for a year for 12 of those million dollars and see just how bad we miss DLaw.
I agree...

If we were to get suh, I would not watch a game till he is gone.

They should agree to trade him.
This would be a huge mistake IMO, DLaw is leader of our defense and elite pass rushers don't grow on trees....FO took a chance with using franchise tag on him last year to ensure h wasn't a 1 year wonder and he earned his payday....they will get this done hopefully by draft time...also, in regards to our other core players coming up for contracts, really shouldn't be an issue as currently for 2020 Dallas is projected to have the most cap space at close to $120 million if the cap goes up again as has in previous few years....

Couldn't agree more, except with the Sean Lee part. Sean Lee is worth more to this team than people think. He's just been really unlucky.

Suh is such a piece of shit. Several players out there that I feel that way about though.
I get it, and I don't want anything to do with him in Dallas, but in the end I want Dallas to win regardless of how I feel about a player or two.

He's an injury away from retirement.

Suh is in the twilight of his career.

I heard that three teams are interested in Eric Berry.
That he didnt sign early because money wasnt right & since it wasnt he would probably wait till around training camp to sign with a team. Then they mentioned the Cowboys by name as a team needing a safety (although didnt necessarily say they were one of the three)
I would love to bring Berry in at a cheaper rate.

I saw that too. Was kind of a stretch the way he tied the Cowboys in and seemed to be based on nothing BUT why wouldn't we be interested if we could get him at a good price? He is a risk but if (I know it's a big if) he can ever be healthy again he isn't just good, he's friggin awesome and I don't give a shit what the coaches say, it's still a weak spot for us that we could make a huge strength. The only thing is are we interested in moving Woods to SS since we seem to like his potential as a FS so much. Before Richard we used the 2 interchangeably but were a little more traditional last year and used a true SS more often. I know I do it in a second if they leave it up to me, but they never ask my opinion :pout:
