True.. maybe every 5 years there should be an update rule or something
Yea - not a bad idea - but only if you feel the need due to outdated info/status. ...

I'm game Ram

Name:
Brian Carraway (And I don't care one bit if anybody has my last name)

Fantasy Screen Name: bandit

Why that name? because I grew up in the 80's and he was the coolest. Honestly though I just kind of picked it. Really like it though.

Age: 41

City and State of Residence: Titusville, FL

Time Zone: Eastern

Married or Single: Married

Children: 2 a just turned 6 year old girl and a 4 year old boy

Occupation (If retired, list your occupation prior to retirement also): Still an Insurance Agent

Work hours: all the freaking time. I work from home which sounds like it's awesome, but it makes it really hard to stop working.

When do you post to SportsHoopla: all the time, but you'll hardly ever see a post before 10:00am or between 6:00pm and 9:00pm because that's family time.

What SportsHoopla boards are you active on? Any of the MBBRL pages, although I will also read anything on the fantasy football board and post opinions sometimes.

Who is your favorite NFL team (if you have one)?
Unfortunately it's the Miami Dolphins

How long have you been playing fantasy football? 15 years now

Why did you start playing fantasy football? My brother asked me to co-own a team with him. I had actually done a fantasy football league when I was in college in 1997 through a local newspaper but didn't really understand it or know what the hell I was doing so I just owned guys that I liked including Barry Sanders (during his 2000 yard season). I had the high score in the league one week and that entered me in a drawing to win a cruise with some Jacksonville Jaguars players and I won the drawing, so my girlfriend (now wife) and I went on our first cruise and we didn't meet one football player or go to one football event because I don't think there was one starter from the Jaguars on the boat. LOL.

What brought you to the MBBRL? Lefty and I actually started on the website that will not be mentioned because of my writing skills. Then the B league had some openings the next year and Lefty and Wil nominated me. I remember that Wil was worried that I didn't post enough at the time they let me in.

How many MBBRL football leagues are you a member of? Let's see the B league, D1, suicide, and now the vampire league so 4, but I also have to keep track of the recaps and the suicide A vs. B challenge, so I kind of feel like that number should be 7.

How many other fantasy football leagues are you typically in? I'm always in my keeper league, my dynasty league, Monkey's dynasty league, Lefty's keeper league, a league with my brother-in-law, a no bench Hardcore league, and then I typically do one or two other public leagues so 7 or 8.

How many leagues did you make the playoffs in and how many did you win? playoffs in 5 of 8 money leagues last year and won two of them (Lefty's league and the Hardcore league). That's 3 titles in 4 years and a 2nd place finish in the Hardcore League, so apparently I need to just eliminate my bench in all other leagues. And the championship in D1 was the cherry on top.

What’s your favorite thing about fantasy football? If I'm being honest and I'm going to get a little bit sappy. It's this message board. I feel like the camaraderie on this board makes me closer to you guys than most of the people I actually hang out with. My wife is always complaining that I don't want to meet new people and make new friends, which she's right because I don't give a shit about meeting new people, but I also have all of you guys that I consider friends and that's plenty for me. Who the hell needs human contact anyway? If we're going to talk about actual fantasy football, the best part is taking a dynasty team that was complete and total shit and abandoned and turning it into a championship team less than two years later. As far as fantasy football goes, it doesn't get any better than that.

On a scale of 1 to 10, rate your ability to talk smack on the message boards?
6 I'm not a big smack talker but I like to mix it up sometimes.

What do you consider your strongest fantasy football attribute? Playing the waiver wire.

What do you consider your weakest fantasy football attribute? Since I'm in so many leagues, sometimes I let the fact that I own a guy in another league influence whether I should draft him anywhere else.

What one fantasy player pissed you off the most with their performance last year and it makes you think twice about owning them this year? Well definitely Rob Gronkowski but he retired, so I'm going with Drew Brees. I know that he was awesome for the first 8 or 9 weeks, but he disappeared in the fantasy playoffs and it cost me at least two championships.

Who is the greatest fantasy football player of all time?
It's still Ladanian Tomlinson, the guy was a monster

Tell us one funny/amazing/horrible story involving your fantasy football career:
I had to look back to see what I put on there before, but I added this question after the original sheet. For me it was two years ago in Lefty's league. In the first round of the playoffs I won a close game by 2.5 points against my opponent. I went in and picked some guys up off of waiver and everything was normal, and then on Thursday I looked in there and I didn't have a matchup listed. After doing some research I learned that my linebacker had been credited with a sack (2 points) and a tackle (1 point) and it was taken away from him when the stat corrections came out so I lost by .5, so I was stat corrected right out of the playoffs. I cussed for 15 minutes straight. I've lost on stat corrections before, but not when I've won by 2.5 points. That one still hurts.

So here is the list of players that were listed under the I'm not going to draft that douchebag next year. By the way Chef and Fuzzy need to start a we hate fat running backs club because their answers were almost identical in hating Eddie Lacy and giving a shout out to hating Trent Richardson. So not surprisingly Eddie Lacy is the landslide winner with Gronk coming in 2nd. Most everybody pulled the I don't take anybody off my draft board crap, well no shit guys. If Gronk's still there in the 9th round I'd draft him too, but the point of the question was more, who are you so mad at fantasy wise that you'd like to throw darts at a picture of them:

Eddie Lacy - 6 votes
Gronk - 3 votes
Deandre Hopkins - 2 votes
Jamaal Charles - 2 votes
Trent Richardson - 2 votes
Jeremy Hill - 2 votes
Marvin Jones - 1 vote
Allen Robinson - 1 vote
Cam Newton - 1 vote
Coby Fleener - 1 vote
Sammy Watkins - 1 vote
Steve Smith - 1 vote
Jay Cutler - 1 vote (but who the hell would draft him anyway)
Kirk Cousins - 1 vote
Phillip Rivers - 1 vote
Eli Manning - 1 vote
Thomas Rawls - 1 vote
Lamar Miller - 1 vote
Brandin Cooks - 1/2 vote

wonder how many people are avoiding Hopkins these days, lol

Name: Jeff W - damn, y'all got me scared now too!

Fantasy Screen Name: Smoking Monkey

Why that name? Was setting up my CBS message board name at a previous job, where I told everyone fairly regularly that if I ever became the CEO, I'd buy a pet monkey and teach it to ride a bike and smoke a cigarette at the same time. This was a small company that was trying to run itself like a mega-corporation, and I probably got asked 'Where do you see yourself in 5yrs?' about once a month for 2 years.
That's right, CEO with a pet monkey that smokes. That's where I see myself in 5yrs.

Age: 35

City and State of Residence: St Louis MO, very soon to be Nashville TN

Time Zone: Central, soon to be Eastern

Married or Single: Married

Children: 2yr old and 1 that's almost a month

Occupation: sales analyst

Work hours: normal business hrs, don't get the time to work on football from my cubicle with the new job though, but usually can read the Hoop but tough to post unless my supervisor is out of the office - he's a real workaholic type, and not like the guys from the show

When do you post to SportsHoopla: during the day - from my cube at work(now), at night - mostly from phone sometimes I get the laptop out for football purposes.

What SportsHoopla boards are you active on? Fantasy football

How long have you been playing fantasy football? 17 years total - started out with free leagues on yahoo in 2002, played my first money league the yr after.

Why did you start playing fantasy football? A family friend needed another owner in his work league. Was a cool work league that featured top level brass down to the every-day worker at a chemical plant here in STL. Don't see many that co-mingle with upper mgmt like that these days. Held the draft at an upscale italian restaurant with the best toasted raviolis in the city.

What brought you to the MBBRL? CBS message boards. My first league was on yahoo, 2nd was with my brother-in-law's work friends on CBS. Just started reading the posts, and eventually started posting myself. We did a 'Top 5' game where you posted your top 5 position players for each week, and had a crazy scoring system to see who was the best prognosticator.

How many MBBRL football leagues are you a member of? Barbarians, Suicide A, Coma A, D2, Suicide A vs B (Bandit does all the work there though)

How many other fantasy football leagues were you in this year? 16tm full PPR Dynasty (I'm commish), 12tm half PPR Dyansty (Bandit commish), 10tm Superflex Dynasty, 12tm full PPR Auction redraft (work league), 10tm 4plyr Keeper - Standard, 12tm half PPR redraft, 12tm half PPR + half rush/rec 1st down redraft, and 13tm half PPR Best Ball league (I also commish this).....extremely high chance I'll get into a league with my new coworkers as well this year, but will prob drop the Auction draft with the guys from my old department, not sure if I can make the draft after I move.

wow, 8 money leagues now on top of the MBBRL's.....I'm an addict, not at the level of some others around here (ahem, HAROLD!!), but I clearly have a problem.

How many leagues did you make the playoffs in and how many did you win?
2018 Trophy Case

-16tm full PPR Dynasty: Champ
-Bandit's Dynasty: 2nd place
-10tm 4plyr Keeper: 2nd place
-Best Ball: Champ

Made the playoffs in a few others, but didn't bring home any hardware, not sure I even made it out of the 1st round in any besides the 1st 3 leagues above.

What’s your favorite thing about fantasy football? Winning, and winning BIG

upload_2019-6-1_13-54-33.png
tenor.gif

oh yeah, and memes/gifs from Mighty Ducks, I love those.

What do you consider your strongest fantasy football attribute? I feel like I'm a really good drafter, typically build nice teams in AUG/SEPT. Last couple yrs I've been honing my WW skills, and I think those that play with me across multiple leagues can vouch that I've improved in that dept.

What do you consider your weakest fantasy football attribute? When to wait and when to pull the trigger on the waiver claims. I always seem to use my top spot 1 wk too soon, 1 wk before a guy gets injured or loses his job permanently. Just never seem to land good waiver guys like I can in the draft or even in FA after waivers process. ***like I mentioned above, this is an aspect that I've actively been working on improving, and think I'm starting to see some results

What other MBBRL member do you think is the best message poster? I love most of AverageJoe's statistical analysis. Always been a stat junkie going back to my days collecting baseball cards and reading Beckett magazines and newspaper box scores religiously. ***You're still the one @averagejoe , love the data/analysis you bring to the table. Not taking anything away from others, cause I do consider all inputs/advice when I read other posts or when people reply to my posts.

What one fantasy player that is still active would you absolutely not own under any circumstances next year? I'm done with Sammy Watkins. Just don't have the patience anymore to wait for a healthy season from that guy. I say that now, but we'll see when it comes to draft day. I don't typically view any player as a 'never own' guy, but Watkins is probably the highest profile guy that I'll avoid unless he falls far. ***Hilariously took Watkins as my WR3 (I think round 5??) of Bandit's dynasty league, what, like a month after I posted this? But I guess my frustration overcame logic, and I traded him away right before that 2 TD game last season. I added a 1st round pick (1.11, but didn't know that at the time) to Watkins to land JuJu. My hunch he'd become PIT WR1 looks to be correct, now let's pile some TDs on top of these next few 1400-1600yd seasons.

Who is the greatest fantasy football player of all time?
The KC Chiefs RB1 - From Preist Holmes to Larry Johnson to Thomas Jones/Jamaal Charles and now Spence Ware. Not sure what it is, but for a team that never sees any playoff success, they sure do have a badass fantasy RB on their team every season it seems. **Ware never got his full chance to shine, but the list continues on with <Insert RB Name Here> being a top performer as the Chiefs RB1, Hunt was a stud for a couple yrs, and Damien Williams was great after his departure last year. Don't even like the Chiefs, but they seem to have one of the top RBs every single damn year, going back a couple decades now. Impressive.

Name: Gary B

Fantasy Screen Name: Femurov

Why that name? So, when I was a freshman in college, I broke my femur, thus earning the nickname Femur. When we played intermural hockey, we decided to add "ov" to the names on our jerseys and field the Russian team, which would be greater than the Russian line of that time (mid 90s). When I signed up for my first message board, oddly enough, "Femur" was taken. So, I added the ov, and voila!

Age:
43

City and State of Residence: Annapolis, MD

Time Zone: EST

Married or Single: Married

Children: 16 YO daughter (will be 17 in a week) than I inherited and 10 YO son.

Occupation (If retired, list your occupation prior to retirement also): Assistant General Manager at a restaurant/bar. Not just front of the house anymore!

Work hours: mostly nights. My early shift is from 2pm to 10pm. If I close on a weekend night, I could be leaving as late as 4am.

When do you post to SportsHoopla: Whenever I can.

What SportsHoopla boards are you active on? Mock Drafts, Denver Broncos, Fantasy Football Forum. Every once in a while I will check out a forum on the front page that sounds interesting to me.

Who is your favorite NFL team (if you have one)? Denver

How long have you been playing fantasy football? All together, about 16 years or so. My buddy started a league on AOL while I was in college, but it only lasted a couple years. Then, we started my main league in 2003 when my roommate and another buddy came in about 2 hours before kickoff of the first Thursday night game and said 2 other buddies were coming over and we were going to draft for a fantasy football league. It started with 5 teams, a salary cap, 3 ww moves for the whole year, no head to head, only total points, updates on a stack of papers that my buddy had to print out every week, no money. After 3 expansions and many rule tweaks, it is a very solid, very fun and active Fantasy Football League. We start 7 IDPs and a Punter.

Why did you start playing fantasy football?
That's what I was born to do.

What brought you to the MBBRL? I have always wanted to do a dynasty league and have never gotten past the first year or two before they folded. I heard about the D2 needing people and expressed interest and the rest is history. I am well on my way of putting the "dynasty" in Dynasty 2... or maybe putting the D in dynasty? 3 for 3 in making the championship game with 2 rings. Not too shabby.

How many MBBRL football leagues are you a member of? D2, MBBRL B league, soon to be Vampire League. Have done a couple along the way, but I think these will be it. I'm trying to cut down.

How many other fantasy football leagues are you typically in?
My main keeper league (Naptown Wicked), my work league, and a dynasty league that Creepcreep put together. I was in a league with a guy I used to work with, but I don't think I am going back to that one. I posted a thread on it last year, but long story short, they vetoed a trade at the deadline only because it made my team stronger. I still ended up winning the league (in large part because they vetoed the trade). It sounds like I am whining about it or being egotistical, but it really was bullshit (and most of you agreed). I'm not bitter about it, but I don't want to put myself in the situation again.

How many leagues did you make the playoffs in and how many did you win? I won my main league (1st 3 time winner!) and the league I am leaving. I won 3rd in my work league. Made the playoffs in the other money league I was in. Won D2 (1st 2 time winner!)

What’s your favorite thing about fantasy football? The draft. I especially love live drafts and most especially the one in my main league. It runs pretty close to what the real NFL draft is like (except with a few blunts roaming around). We trade mid draft, have a buddy that is not in the league who announces the picks as he inputs them into the computer. I usually roam around the room and talk trades with people who are on the clock, just to fuck with them and use up their time. We fine people $1 for going over their time and they get ridiculed mercilessly.

On a scale of 1 to 10, rate your ability to talk smack on the message boards?
Ability? Up there, probably 8 or 9. I usually refrain, though. I will take a shot if someone leaves the door open, but I usually don't talk just to talk unless I am drunk or something.

What do you consider your strongest fantasy football attribute? Now, my experience and knowledge of the game. Real NFL and Fantasy-wise. My willingness to not panic after an 0-2 start and drop all my guys and pick up a bunch of "flavor of the weeks". And my savvy trade negotiations.

What do you consider your weakest fantasy football attribute? I have a tendency to target and hang on to players too long. Guys like Jason Witten, Antonio Gates, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, etc. I also sometimes shy away from guys who I think have a "one hit wonder" possibility to them, whether it is in season on the ww, or on draft day after someone comes out of nowhere and has a big year.

What one fantasy player pissed you off the most with their performance last year and it makes you think twice about owning them this year? I try to separate year to year and not get too high or low on anyone because of it. There were definitely guys I was high on last year that underperformed, but I like to think that I will value them at the right spot. Corey Davis is a name that sticks out to me for this year, but I feel like he is going lower than he did last year and he showed signs on breaking out. Maybe if they got a new QB in Tennessee...

Who is the greatest fantasy football player of all time?
Very tough to say. I would think it would be Jerry Rice. He was putting up today-type numbers 30 years ago at a position that was probably nowhere near as sought after as it is now. During my career, though (after my hiatus, of course), probably Ladanian Tomlinson. He was my first round pick (#2 overall) in that initial 5 man league.

Tell us one funny/amazing/horrible story involving your fantasy football career:
I'm sure I have mentioned this before quite a few times, but the game that will forever be known as "Point Zero One". This was a battle of epic proportions over the course of the weekend (there were 2 Saturday games that both of us had a few people in) and went back and forth a few times. Week 16, 2016 semifinals. I will spare the details and leave you with the screenshot.

Bandit's Dynasty - 2 seasons in the books, both of my playoff losses were on me.
-1st season, forget who I put in my 2nd flex spot, but if I would have went with any of the 3 other guys I was considering from my bench, I would have won.
-Last season, started Rivers over Goff in the championship match up, Goff would have won it for me.

What do you consider your weakest fantasy football attribute?
Lack of patience without a doubt.
How many other fantasy football leagues are you typically in?

Think I'm up to 13, but likely I'll be in at least 17 as I'm waiting on some redraft money leagues, plus the Bust league.

Other then that, ever thing else is pretty much the same.

Name: Doug C.

Fantasy Screen Name: Leftypower

Why that name? Well, I know it wasn't me that came up with it. I think it was Bandit and his brother, although I'm thinking it had a bit more Bandit in it. As I remember, it really had nothing to do with fantasy football at all - believe it came about from little league and the bazillion pitches I threw him and his team-mates.

Age: 68 or 3yrs older than the first profile

City and State of Residence: Titusville, Florida

Time Zone: Eastern

Married or Single: Married to the same dear woman for 46yrs (yes, she has a lot of patience and may read this)

Children: Yes, no new ones though - same two damn fine boys if I say so myself. Also have two wonderful grandkids (Gabby and Evan) courtesy of Bandit.

Occupation (If retired, list your occupation prior to retirement also): Retired at age 62+1 month. Worked at Kennedy Space Center as a Fire Protection Engineer for 33+ years prior. Before that, City of Titusville, Firefighter for 7-1/2 yrs.

Work hours: Well, if you consider fantasy football to be work, then 5-6hrs a day.

When do you post to SportsHoopla: Generally first thing in the morning but can be seen most anytime of the day.

What SportsHoopla boards are you active on? Mostly only the MBBRL main thread, dynasty 1, Bandit dynasty, suicide. But do read and comment on other FF related topics that grab my interest.

Who is your favorite NFL team (if you have one)? Clemson Tigers are the only team I watch.

How long have you been playing fantasy football? 11 years. The first year was in Bandit's pay league after he and his brother convinced me that I did not have to pull against the Ravens or Colts if I didn't own any.

Why did you start playing fantasy football? From Bandit "..... Most of you would be shocked to know that he was actually very reluctant to play and it took some convincing by me and my brother."

What brought you to the MBBRL? Well, it wasn't the MBBRL when I first got involved and it was mostly by coincidence that I stumbled across the original 12 from posts on CBS. Being new to fantasy, I had posed questions on the forum, and they were kind enough to answer. We got to 'know' one another and seemed to see eye to eye on most things (except maybe Foot), next thing I know Wil came up with the league concept, we discussed ideas on what to call it, and the rest is history.

How many MBBRL football leagues are you a member of? 4. A proud Barbarian, the A Suicide, Dynasty 1 (co-own with Fuzzy), and the soon to be Vampire League (co-own with Bandit).

How many other fantasy football leagues are you typically in? 4. Two annual pay leagues (Bandit's and mine), Bandit Dynasty, and co-owner of Zulu's Lefty Bandits (with guess who?) in the Ghostbuster IDP League.

How many leagues did you make the playoffs in and how many did you win? 2018 - a grand total of 4 playoffs. The only league won was Bandit's (big money to me). So that was payback for the loss in D1.

What’s your favorite thing about fantasy football? I would say the draft, although being in dynasty has made me appreciate the art of trading MUCH, MUCH more. For both it's the research, the guesses, the what the heck is he thinking?, and of course, the what the heck was I thinking. ....

On a scale of 1 to 10, rate your ability to talk smack on the message boards? Not much into smack so I'd probably give myself a 5.

What do you consider your strongest fantasy football attribute? Easily, the off-season preparation (for good or bad). Basically, I don't ever take much of a break. It used to be waivers since I play that a lot, but the majority of guys I play with now are just as good or maybe even better.

What do you consider your weakest fantasy football attribute? Setting my friggin lineup, and my personal dislike list. I waffle back and forth on lineups so much it's border-line insane. Most times it really doesn't amount to a hill of beans since the 'wrong' choice is within a couple of points of the right one - but sometimes it's the difference between winning and losing. Have told myself many a time that I'm just going to concentrate on a starting lineup and scrubs for bye-week fillers - but when a guy I have ranked higher is there - even if he my 5th WR I just can't seem to help myself.
As for player dislikes, sometimes I'll just pass on a guy because I just don't care for him and don't want to have to pull for him - - yes, I need serious counseling.

What one fantasy player pissed you off the most with their performance last year and it makes you think twice about owning them this year? Got to list 2 here. Devonta Freeman - think the reason is pretty obvious on him, and Matt Breida - guy was never healthy but not bad enough for them to just sit his ass prior to the game.

Who is the greatest fantasy football player of all time? It's still LaDanian Tomlinson. Whoever had him always kicked my ass.

Tell us one funny/amazing/horrible story involving your fantasy football career: I have two. In my first taste of the playoffs, I had a pretty killer team in Bandit's league. Made it to the Semi-finals, had DeAngelo Williams (when he was really good) and just needed 3 pts from him - felt really good about that. Well, he got hurt early and left me short by 2 pts. Second, was last yr in D1 finals vs Bandit when friggin Lindsey messed up his hand and left us 1.6pts short of the title. ... guess the only comfort is we got there by 0.02 (still not sure how that happened). I'm pretty sure that 0.02 game makes Barilko's list here.

What SportsHoopla boards are you active on? College football, MLB, and fantasy football board.

How long have you been playing fantasy football? Approximately 11-12 years. Can't remember when I exactly first started.

Why did you start playing fantasy football? I was always a big football fan and would watch every game I could starting with college games on Saturdays and then pro games on Sundays. My dad needed help with his work league team and I basically took it over and won the championship my first year. Was hooked ever since.

What brought you to the MBBRL? My first introduction to MBBRL was I believe as a replacement 2 seasons ago in the middle of the season for baseball. After that I got invited to Suicide B last season as well as Coma B. Got invited to fill this out by @tlance

How many MBBRL football leagues are you a member of? 2. Suicide B and Coma B

How many other fantasy football leagues were you in this year? This past year I was only in 4 other leagues besides the MBBRL leagues. A work one, college friend one (done this year), and two random leagues.

How many leagues did you make the playoffs in and how many did you win? None in MBBRL. In the other 4 leagues, I made the playoffs in 3 of them. Won 2 of the and finished 2nd in the other.

What’s your favorite thing about fantasy football? My favorite part of fantasy football is the draft. Watching a guy you wanted but couldn't pull the trigger on in the previous round fall to you later than you expected is an awesome feeling, while the flip side of getting to talk smack to the guy who took the guy you wanted one pick before you took him is just as fun. A close second would be scouring the waiver wire for an off the radar type of player who can be added as a bench piece.

What do you consider your strongest fantasy football attribute? Drafting. I try to avoid using my heart on guys that I love to watch and take the smarter choice without reaching *most of the time*. I've also tried out many different draft strategies over the years and am able to adapt if things aren't going how I planned before the draft.

What do you consider your weakest fantasy football attribute? Falling victim to recency bias. I'll allow a big week from a normally lesser player cloud my decision on starting a regularly solid player from time to time. I also have a terrible time making a final decision, usually changing my lineup minutes before the first kickoff on Sunday.

What other MBBRL member do you think is the best message poster?

I've always enjoyed reading what MilkSpiller and Chef have to say. They provide solid advice on keepers and just general fantasy football knowledge. Not sure who else is in MBBRL to be totally honest.

What one fantasy player that is still active would you absolutely not own under any circumstances next year?
Todd Gurley. The knee injury worries me.

Who is the greatest fantasy football player of all time?
When I was younger and just getting introduced to fantasy football, I was a huge Peyton Manning fan. He was always my QB even if I had to draft him earlier than I wanted to. He lead me to a couple of different championships and I'll always appreciate how well he threw the ball and ran an offense.
