Springstein is the weirdest to me. Simply because the people who ARE into him (and I know some)... they literally worship him like a god. They really think his music is special and that his lyrics are extremely profound. I know two people who have lyrics of his tattoo'd on their body. There's also some New Jersey celebrities who worship him like that. Like you said, a regional thing.

There's something to it that I don't get. Seriously. I wish I did. I just hear generic ass music.

Van Halen just seems like fun upbeat rock music for its time that didn't age well. Which is fine... I just don't like when people talk about Van Halen with such reverence. Like they were really breaking barriers or have a timeless sound. It sounds like the sound track of an 80's high school douchebag.
