Nice pitching overall tonight. Amazing that this team is at .500.

Other GM’s do their homework.

I think the rangers are stuck with the big stench because of his contract. It’s not overbearing, but you still shouldn’t be paying a guy that much who was statistically the worst position player in 2017 ( I think) is the year?
I actually thought before the game this could be a good time to start Santana and Forsythe and give Odor a break against a lefty.

I thought so too, but I think me and saddles are right.

The big stench has a different set of rules for some reason. He gets to stay in the lineup while he works through slumps, even if those slumps are months long, and he never gets taken out of the lineup when he’s hot like we’ve seen with other players.

Gallo get his 15th HR tonight and Sam Huff gets his 17th. That is his second since being moved up a level.

Big stench got the hat trick tonight.

He could’ve been a candidate for the golden sombrero, but Elias threw 4 pitches in a row that all missed the strike zone by a mile.

I noticed that we have a number of players who have a really good eye at the plate in regards to recognizing pitches that are out of the zone. Now that being said the home plate umpires the last 2 nights have butchered the strike zone. But in the long run it should be a benefit to the Ranger hitters.

Calhoun got screwed tonight. Gallo gets the short end of the stick several times a week.

It’s part of the game. It affects other teams too at least.

It may be a part of the game, but it should be a part that those in charge of the game are ashamed of.

Agree. It is ridiculous that if a player can have such a good command of the strike zone why not the umpires. It at least should be a learned behavior that thru time and effort they would be able to recognize pitches that they keep calling strikes that are outside the zone and adapt accordingly.

I wish they had the ability to fire more of them.

Nice Joey. Think that puts the BA at .290 for him.

Just think last year Joey ended up 138th out of 139 in BA, this year he's up to 36 as of last night. I wouldn't be afraid to say he'll be on the All Star squad this year and will be interesting to see his final BA. Everytime he's moved up a level it's taken him awhile to figure it out, took quite a bit longer this time but it looks as if he's done it.

2019 Regular Season MLB Baseball Batting Statistics and League Leaders - Major League Baseball - ESPN

I would think the All Star ballots will be released sometime in the next 4-5 weeks and the rules for voting have changed this year.

Joey for MVP?? Looks like they have some of the same views I do about CF in general.

Defensive metrics like Gallo in center

Odor has almost never had to rotate out or be benched for more than a game at a time, as far back as I can remember. If he is in a slump he gets to play his way out if it even if that takes 6 to 8 weeks. If he is hot then he is too hot to sit. He gets his own set of rules and guidelines.

His disappointing hitting sometimes reminds me of Blalock, except Hank was never afforded the opportunity to stay in the lineup like Odor has been.

He is probably getting hot again, but we have been through that part of his cycle before. Eventually, the wretched, long slump will come back around too, and he will once again be afforded the opportunity to work his way out of it. I don't think I have ever seem anything like it with the Rangers.

Yes, you've stated this repeatedly

think it's still too early for considering most of this but I will admit I was wrong about giving up on him after last season
