Oh come on you guys. The perfect replacement for GOT has been out for a while and getting better every year.
The last Kingdom.
Uhtred is your hero. You just don't know it yet.

Seen it.

They are doing Foundation? Holy shit!
Will they start with Foundation and Psycho-History, or will they start with some Robot/Empire stories first?
I read those books so long ago, it will be fun to be reminded of them...
Shits and giggles
EDIT: So you can make fun of people going through GoT withdrawal...
This is something I would be very interested in...although at this point, a lot of the older stories are horribly dated...so I wonder how they will present it all.
It's been a few decades since I read Foundation but I don't recall them being anything more than political machinations in action.
What I was mainly getting at is that Asimov wrote several of those books in the 40's and 50's, and the stuff he described as being "future" technology has been bypassed by much better stuff. But in some other ways, he was very prescient.
And yeah, some of the political stuff could be ripped from today's headlines and would fit into his stories seamlessly.
Ah, now it makes sense.
Admittedly, I had a moment of ... wow, it's been years this has been going on, and now it's over, but I'm definitely not a ... "what do I watch next" person, 'cause I watch very little television, and I'm past the point of caring about the final books. While I enjoyed the first 3 books immensely, other than LoTR (and, yeah, the world of Middle Earth is a big deal to me), I'm not really even into the fantasy genre.
I got rid of HBO when Westworld got so damned gay.
Not that upset I've missed GoT.
I'll watch the rest of the NBA playoffs, some Tigers games and a little local news. That'll be about it until it gets cold out/football.
Yep.I'm going to finish Chernobyl and some other show and then drop it in June.
Westworld was pretty good for about a season and a half.
I've gotten into Robin Hobb's books lately...they're not Middle Earth, but there be lotsa dragons in a couple of her series, and she has some unique components to her stories...like:
Ships made from dragon's cocoons, that eventually become self-aware because they contain the dragon's memories
Yep.
The back half of season 2 was just awful. Horribad.
All the non woke robot cum dumpsters went into the portal to robot heaven.Does it look like 2 ties into 3 or am I just wasting my time if I finish 2?

And like four woke ones now walk amongst "us" outside the park. No idea where they are going with season 3, but I'm out.

I've been reading about a GOT prequel set 10,000 years before GOT. I wish they would make one 20 years before. Give me a young Robert, Ned, Barristan, The Sword of the Morning, The Smiling Knight, The Mad King...that would Rock

If they want to do it up right, do all the Robot Novels. Caves of Steel would make a great movie. And to do only the original 3 books of the Foundation Series would be a crime.
Would've like to see an entire Pinkman series.I will wrap it if for no reason to see where 3 goes. Still a big fan of Paul's even though The Path got a little goofy for my tastes.
Is that the one that bezos renewed on the spot at some conference after some fans put a spaceship in the air or something? For anyone looking for another show that has a lot of Game of Thrones like intrigue, I highly recommend The Expanse.
It is arguably the best Sci-Fi show ever made. Originally made by SyFy, it has moved to Amazon for Season 4. Based on a series of books, current on book 8 of 9.
I will warn folks that the show doesn't do a ton of hand holding especially for non-book readers. It's a show you really need to pay attention to or you can quickly get lost.
But the show is extremely well done and portrays living in space unlike how any other tv show has done. Star Wars/Star Trek it ain't.
