Ironic Iowa fans are arguing on behalf of teams with weak schedules after their last ‘run’ with a weak schedule when they couldn’t get it done against the 1 ranked opponent they played in a conference title game.

Why take a pay cut to play at a midmajor? Fans aren’t paying a premium to go watch USF or FAU but yes, Alabama should do home and home with UConn to be fair. Teams used to have to have the play anyone anywhere to make a name for themselves, now it’s a play nobody and say you are better than everyone and cry that they aren’t treated like they are as good as Clemson.

Major programs are doing UCF a favor by even offering any return trip. UCF is not a power 5 team, so they wouldn’t count as mandatory power 5 conference.

Major teams make millions off of a home game and are giving up that money to play a road game. So if they don’t see it as financially beneficial for a 1 for 1 game but do see the appeal of a 2 for 1, that is their prerogative. You don’t get to be a never was and start trying to dictate how things are going to work. UCF is the millennial of college football, want instant gratification without proven results over an extended period of time and love to play the role of a victim.

UCF needs to play quality P5 opponents to build up their name, P5 teams don’t need to play UCF. No one is saying what a quality win for LSU over UCF last year, they laugh at UCF for losing to LSU with half their defense gone. Beating them provides nothing which is why 2 for 1 is the going rate for most G5 programs.

Absurd shot at Iowa. I'm not arguing to let anyone in with a weak schedule. Problem is system does not define what is enough, makes it difficult for G5 teams to schedule enough home games for their fans and tv contracts, and gives top P5 teams no more incentive to play UCF than the worst G5 teams.

Here is the safest bet. When scheduling a game, if you look at it and the National perception is,” I am excited to see this game” , it is a good game to schedule.
