Eh, we greatly exceeded expectations last year and were picked to finish somewhere in the 8-12 range in the B1G this year. It sucks that we couldn't continue the play and success we had early in the year, but we were pretty young (not Duke young) and thin.

If we don't finish top 5 in the conference and ranked next year, I'd start to worry about Holtmann.

He should be good to go next year imo. The only big hiccup could be Wesson leaving the program. I have no idea what the fuck is with that dude. But provided he returns they should return to the top 4 in the conference

Yeah same here for you guys. We've played like shit against Michigan State and Maryland, glad to have them on the other side of the bracket. With all that said, we'll probably lay an egg against PSU and it won't matter. lol.
I'm torn on who I want to play . Illinois has been playing solid but they're young and a better matchup for us. NW is experienced and seems to play us tough but it's weird to root against the last place team lol

True about Wesson. This is his second issue right?

Bottom of the league is so good, I think either team could pose a challenge. We looked good against NW, so I'd be inclined to probably want to play them instead if I was Iowa.

Something I think would be intriguing is to see what would happen with PSU if they get to the title game but lose. They'd be 17-18 with great metrics , great wins and a top 5 SoS. Normally I'd laugh at the idea of an at large with a losing record but most people seem to think there's a good shot Texas gets in even with a loss to KU in the B12 tourney even though they be 16-16. I don't think PSU would get in but you could certainly make an argument for them ahead of some of the other teams being debated

Iowa's Bohannon to have hip surgery. Likely to miss next season. Huge loss for Iowa.

In a way I kind of don't mind . With tbe loss of Baer, Cook and Moss we weren't making a legit run next year anyway . J-Bo taking a redshirt means Iowa loses no one next year and he'll get to play with Pemsl, Garza as seniors . Joe and Connor as juniors, Patrick and CJ as sophs and ( biggest bonus ) likely Xavier Foster as a freshman

It'll suck for next year but 2020 could be amazing

I bet Moss wishes he had known this last month though lol

Rumor has it Juwan Howard is UM next coach. I couldn't think of a worse hire.

No head coaching experience - Check
No college heading coaching experience - Check
No assistant college coaching experience - Check
No high school recruiting experience - Check

Cool, you're hired

He may be a sleeper. Assistant coach with the Miami Heat for 5-6 years and has great connections in Chicago, DC and Miami. Being a Michigan Grad should help immensely the in-state recruiting.

Did Matthews have eligibility left? He had a tough break on the injury tho.

But yeah the other guys idiots.

Nick Ward has a zero percent chance of playing NBA ball

In the 90's? Sure. Definitely not now

I'm quite sure they had a good idea they weren't getting drafted.

Nowadays, being an undrafted free agent is almost the same, even better in some respects than getting picked in the 2nd round. Good for them, bad for college basketball.

Yeah probably . Cook already signed with Denver but I'm guessing he will end up in the G league . Guys leaving early is ok by me but guys with huge holes in their games like these 4 probably should've stayed and worked on their craft . Some of them don't have that economic luxury though
