Everyone was getting clobbered out there though. The conditions were real tough and he put up a great round given that.

This. It’s Bethpage it ain’t the local muni

Congrats Koepka!

Obvious the final group really struggled with V3 coming unglued early enroute to 81 to go with Brooks 74.

A tough course got some wind today and only 10 rounds under par...DJ was the only -5 starter that shot a decent round. Beth Page Black joins the ranks of Oakmont and a few others...it can challenge the best players in the world without being tricked up.

He shot 74 in hard ass conditions. I don’t know what the average score was today but I guarantee you it was over 73. Not only that, he buried a 4 footer for bogey when the world was caving in on him and gathered himself to win by 2. You call it a gag job? The guy is the first golfer in history to hold back to back US Opens and PGA’s at the same time. That’s an embarrassing performance?
What? Get a grip, what does his great play before have to do with today's gaga job? He got a small measure of composure back for two holes on the back nine but if Johnson hadn't fallen apart as soon as he got one stroke behind, we probably would have seen a PGA record gag by Koepka. Bogeying 5 of the last 8 was awful and a serious choke job. I agree he's great, but not on this day.

Just STFU already. You have no idea what it’s like to play at a level even close to having a lead like that in a major and trying to bring it home down the stretch on a really difficult golf course. He probably got a little conservative but he still had the lowest score over 4 days.

Go back to the NBA board where everyone thinks you’re a joke.

So like I was saying, the tournament really wasn't over on Thurs or Friday like so may short-sighted cheerleaders were spewing.

Nice job by Rory grinding it out when he never contended.

Ends up with a tied for 8th.

I told the wife the way the announcers are fawning all over him, he's going to have a bad round and someone will make a charge. I blame the announcers for his poor play....not that it was that bad, especially given those conditions. I'd probably shoot his overall score in one round on that course and that wind.

Clearly the Sunday pressure and the conditions were a factor in deciding this tournament.

Sunday...coming into the final round I think there were at least 4 players at -5 and another 3 or 4 at -4...only one of these players shot under par on Sunday....DJ.

Conditions...high wind is a golfer's worst nightmare and winds were gusting up to 30+ mph at times, DJ airmailing the green on 17 with a 5i into the wind...hole was playing 197 or something....both DJ and Koepka came up woefully short on the approach on the par 5 13th.

No doubt there was some choke factor going on (he said it himself) with the way Brooks was driving the ball. It would've been interesting to see the finish if DJ has been able to finish at -8, but considering none of the contenders were able to get thru those final holes without losing strokes to par tells me that the course was winning more than Kopeka was choking it away.

Nah, he wasn't great yesterday, but he was good enough to claim it...again.

When you gag away 6 shots of a 7 shot lead and then depend on Johnson to make two ridiculous bogeys at the end while you bogey 5 of the last 8, I certainly think you can call it a gag job.

When you won it doesn't matter how you did it. Everyone was making bogies out there yesterday. Half of the field shot 74 or worse. Conditions were tough. History won't care that he won by 2 instead of 7.

Nobody “fell” apart yesterday. DJ didn’t fall apart on 16 and 17 he was just battling the conditions, same as Koepka. I think you seriously lack comprehension of what those guys were facing yesterday. Nobody has anything to hang their head about. All were gutsy performances.

Neener neener neener. Jesus Christ, was it the run away win all the sycophants were predicting before the weekend?
