I get Dowdy being a rule 5 but Gomez has shown nothing. Has to be someone in the system that can offer something better. DFA and give someone else a shot

Ask yourself why is DD in the Minors and Santana with the Rangers when DD has more tools/upside than Santana?

The most talented teams are never "shoe ins" to win a championship. You have to learn how to win. It is a process.
Everyone wants the Rangers to win but how you get there is another thing. We may be stripped down enough and I hate to just move Minor without a significant haul. Elite pitchers are hard to come by and you should not give them up in a blink

BTW Santana got nailed last night and although X-rays were negative, I would not be surprised if he goes to the IL. Backup CF is at stake. How this will be handled will be interesting. A possible 60 day DL and roster addition is a possibility

I disagree with this. Santana has had a better year so far than some of our regulars, his speed is comparable to Delino, his arm is better than Delino, his bat is better than Delino. Santana can play 7 different positions and he’s a switch hitter.

The only advantage Delino has over Santana is he actually draws walks.

True but he's never been the teams first choice to play there wherever he's been. He takes bad routes and forgets about the cutoff man, infield is more natural to him so leave him there.

If you actually go look you will find out DDs "Runs Saved" are all positive and most all of Santana's are negative.
