Bundesliga champs again. If they win the Pokal next week, Kovac wins the double..a thing that Ancelotti and Heyneckes couldn't do the past two years with a better squad. If they sack Kovac it will look bad. Kovac did what the other two couldn't do, is successfully overturn the locker room from aging veterans to youth. The aging and breaking down power brokers in the locker room, Ribbery, Robben, Boetang, etc were finally forced to take lesser roles. Players may not like him at times for that, but he did what needed to be done there. Sule, Koman, and Gnabry had to start this year. Manditory if this team was going to improve and it did in the second of the season. Sule and Gnabry vastly improved this season and should be mainstays for awhile. Koman I am still not sure. Would like to see them maybe make a run for Sane. Need more wing depth for sure.
Kovac deserves more than one season in my opinion. Still wouldn’t be surprised if they sacked him, double or no double.

They mentioned it during the game, but the announcers think he did a good job in a transition year. He basically got Goretza as the one new player and no one else. In transition year, he might win the double. And they thought it would look terrible if he was sacked. Give him a shot with the new signings.

Yikes, Hamburg did not make it back up. Another year in Bundeliga 2 for them. Koln is back and Paderborn who was nearly relegated out of Bundesliga 3 just a couple years ago.

Shocking that Hamburg couldn't make it back

FC Magdeburg, my club which got promoted from 3BL to 2BL last year along with Paderborn, unfortunately suffered the opposite fate as them this year, being bounced right back to 3BL.

Congrats to Bayern uhhh-gain. Such a letdown for BVB after the solid lead they once had. Rough year for my German teams

Bayern trying to pry Sane from Man City :) If thet Werner, they would have the entire front line for the German National Team. That would be good for the German National Team also. I would have rather have Sane over the injury prone Coman.

Comes down to inches this year. If BVB beats Schalke (oh those red cards) and Numberg hits the penalty shot at the end vs Bayern BVB wins the title.

Good job Kovac!! Domestic double in the bag. Nice transition to younger players in the end. Survived big injuries to Tolisso, Coman, Robben, and Neuer this season. Saw development of 3 young players Sule, Goreztka, and Gnabry. What more could you ask from this season? Kovac first coach to win Pokal back to back. Won it last year with Frankfurt.

BVB already signed Schultz, Hazard, and Brandt and it appears they are going to keep Sancho. Could be making a nice push for next season. They need Reus healthy or they seem to fall apart, and I would say a revamped defense in spots. Schultz seems to be a good pickup. Might be the left back of the future for German National Team.

BVB bringing in Hazard, Brandt, Schulz.

Already signed I think. I meant Kovac first coach to win Pokal back to back since 2005. I liked what I saw from Schultz when they played The Netherlands in the first Euro qualifier. Had an assist and scored the winning goal. Left back has been an issue for Germany in recent years.

Watched Union Berlin Stuttgart relegstion playoff today. Only Bundesliga left this year lol. Embarrassing for Stuttgart. Pavard, do I really want him at Bayern? You helped play Stuttgart down to relegation. Badstuber and Gomez no life left on those two former German Nationals. Covered in rust both of them. Hertha Berlin vs Union Berlin should be fun rival games next season though. I thought Union was better than Stuttgart to be honest.

I also watched it. The fans storming the pitch afterwards was pretty crazy. Too bad for Stuttgart.

Yeah I watched the end too. Some players not leaving the field and celebatrating with the fans. Great watch.

Wasn't Mario Gomez on the Wolfsburg club a couple years ago too that had to survive a relegation playoff?

Happy for Union Berlin, they have some great fans, and I think they'll bring even more excitement and atmosphere to the Bundesliga.

I believe you’re correct about Gomez/Wolfsburg.

Got my Bayern vs Arsenal ticket this morning for July 17th in LA. Sitting in the Bayern supporters section. Should be a fun experience. Man these players do not have much of an off season.
