Got an alert from CBS Sports this morning. It was the NFL Power Rankings Post Draft and FA.

#1 According to CBS is the New England Patriots. They feel that trhePatriots actually strengthened their defense and have improved their wide receivers from 2018. I can tell you this.......I watched the Chargers, Chiefs and Rams games on 3G2G at twice. Brady's primary targets were Edelman, White and Dorrsett. Hogan dropped at least 8 passes in the playoffs and one misplay ended up as an INT for Brady. CBS thinks that the addition of Harry and the possibility of Josh Gordon being back for Game 11 throught the Super Bowl will be way too much for opposing teams to deal with, especially if Michel, Harris and Burkhead become a three headed rushing monster. Tight end appears to be weaker than 2018 but they feel that Josh and BB will more than make the needed adjustments.

#2 Green Bay Packers...................I didn't read beyond the Patriots but this one shocked me. In my opinion, the NFC had best be ready for a Saints assault.

I read a concensus yesterday that the Patriots exposed the weaknesses of all three teams that they played in the playoffs. They feel that teams will set up their defenses to counter the same way that the Patriots did. The big question is execution.

No question that 2019 will be interesting.

I like it.

The talking heads keep knocking Dorsett because he could not get past Hogan on the depth chart.

Really??
Dorsett was re signed and Hogan never got an offer. That pretty much confirms he got past him on the depth chart.

I just think Dorsett is dumb. Took him a long time to learn the system.

The #Vikings had held active extension talks with veteran TE Kyle Rudolph, but those broke off this morning, sources say. With Minnesota drafting TE Irv Smith and Rudolph due $7.5M, this development could lead to a trade elsewhere. There is interest around the NFL.

Here is an alternative with Pats underdogs. This is a great example of properly mined and twisted data.
Should have been in the stupid offseason thread but WTH.....
Here Are Patriots’ Chances Of Winning Super Bowl LIV, Per ESPN’s FPI

Odd isn't it?

The Patriots beat the incredible Kansas City Chiefs twice last year and totally shut down the vaunted and celebrated Rams in the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs have lost several players and have taken the Patriots' Defensive Line Coach because they couldn't stop the Patriots.ThePats showed the NFL how to slow down Mahomes. ESPN doesn't understand how the NFL actually works. Andy Reid will do exactly what he does every year and not change one thing. Every KC opponent will do exactly what the Patriots did and the Chiefs will Struggle to win their own division because the Chargers and Raiders have made significant improvements and have not lost their start running back and wide receiver for domestic crap.

The Rams have lost two of their starting DL and the patriotsexposed their weakness which was a tight man secondary and rushing 5. The Rams OL couldn't handle the constant push and Goff folded like a pillow case. Same thing will happen to them during the regulars season. They'll finish third in the NFC West.

The Saints are the team that everyone should worry about. Payback is a bitch and they will be playing for revenge on the NFL. They got screwed from a chance to go to the Super Bowl and they'll be ruthless. The only thing that will derail the Saints Express is an injury to Brees.

Come February 2, I expect to see the Patriots and Saints in the greatest Super Bowl ever played. People will still be talking about it 2120 long after every person old enough to understand is dead. There will be people in 2220 who will say that they were at Super Bowl LIV and saw Brees and Brady throw for over 1200 yards in the greatest shootout ever.

ESPN knows exactly how it works... Pick the Pats and get no clicks.

As you knowledgable Patriots know, any Pass Interference call is now reviewable. Thank you Los Angeles Rams.

What most people didn't hear or read was the paretthat said that the review would be for technical violations. That is saying that every time a WR starts jumping around screaming he was interferred with, doesn't mean that his coach is going to throw the red flag. First one must read and understand that pass interferrance is where a defender actually prevents a receiver from cqatching a ball by physically impairing him. One of the PI calls that gets tossed is the WR who gets into a bumping match with a defender on his route downfield. The defender is not keeping hium from catching the ball, he may be inhibiting his ability to get to where the ball may be going but if he's not physically holding him back, it's not a violation.

Bill belichickbeing the football mind that he is, took a very close look at the rules and especially what the rules now say PI actually is and what will called on the field. Knowing that the average height of the NFL CB is 5'11", Bill realized that having dinky WR is not to the Patriots' advantage. If the leaguye is going to allow bumping on pass routes, small WR like Philip Dorsett will get pushed around. Being 6'0" and 198 like Julian Edelman p-uts them on level ground. Bill made the decision to fill the WR positions with 'BIG" guys. The Patriots now have 5 WR 6'3" or taller and all of them are at or over 220. Sounds like BB has plans to push back.

It pays to have a cioachwho uses the rules to his advantage and BB is always at least one step ahead of the rest of the league.

Edelman is 5'10" not 6'0"

Packers #2? What the hell are they smoking! Packers will be lucky to make the playoffs.
