Funny thing is, Pats don't officially announce their coaching staffs like other teams do, they just put it out with the media guide later in the year. So they actually announced that Schiano was leaving the team before they announced he was joining the team lol.

This is definitely a most curious staff makeup when piecing together the reports we have had...the assistant OL coach they've had the last couple years (Cole Popovich) has gotten good word of mouth, but they reportedly hired another college OL coach from Youngstown State to be the assistant OL coach, and Scar's still here. So will they make Popovich the OL coach and give Scar some sort of senior consultant type of title? Would they make Popovich the DL coach to give him some cross-training? None of the coaching assistants has a clear connection to the DL position. DaMarcus Covington was a college receiver who's mostly worked with the back seven defensive players. And the other two were college lacrosse players. Will Bielema just take over the DL? That seems like the most logical solution based on who's already here. And there've been reports they'll move Joe Judge from ST to offense, but where on offense? He was a college QB but presumably Mickey Lombardi will get Schuplinksi's old job so would they give the only open spot on offense (WR) to Judge? And then who would coach ST's? Steve Belichick? Will be very interesting to see how it all finally shakes out.
So Judge is going to coach the WR’s but also remain the ST coordinator. Pellegrino will be with the DB’s, Bielema with the DL, and Covington the OLB’s

A year later Pats grant BigKen’s wish:

The Patriots and free-agent WR Dontrelle Inman have agreed to terms on a contract, per a source. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Inman adds another layer at a position of need for the Patriots. Inman had 28 catches for 304 yards and 3 TDs in nine games with the Colts last year.

Are the Pats trying to build a basketball team at the WR position? Celts could use some help.

I am going to predict that one of the UDFA's bumps him. Any guaranteed money?

At least one of these TE's will learn to block and catch. Putting the others into a 2 TE formation would make it hard to determine if a run or a receiver / decoy or both!

Kyle Rudolph walked out of meeting with Vikings yesterday. They want to extend him and kill his $7.9M salary and cap hit in 2020. He basically told them he'll do the extendion but his cap hit would be around $10M and the Vikings are trying to lowball him but want him and Irv Smith to be a 1-2 TE punch. Rudolph is smart and isn't going to take a hometown discount.

NFL Network says this morning that two teams are vying for Rudolph. The Raiders and the Patriots. If the Patriots can get him, they'll clear the decks and keep three TEs. My guess is that Watson and Rudolph would be the 1 and 2 and the number 3 would be Austin Seferian-Jemkins.

I'm not sure I like that result. I still think one of our youngsters will rise up......

I'll keep trying. Can't figure out why the videos aren't playing and certainly can't figure out how the hell the Lions Rookie video came from the Patriots' website.

Oakland Raiders have hired former New England Patriots’ national scout DuJuan Daniels to a Senior Executive position, per source. The well-regarded Daniels is in Oakland today to sign his contract and start helping the Raiders.

The Boston media can't get rid of their Kyle Rudolph erection. Another snippet came out today saying that the window was finally open for a trade. Rudolph informed the Vikes that he will not extend and is walking next year.

That pretty much screws the Vikes from a top dollar trade. They should have offered him to the highest bidder last Saturday and had a noon Sunday drop dead date on offers. No second chances. They'd have a player and/or picks and Kyle would be elsewhere.

He's set for life with that signing bonus alone (assuming money is managed properly).
