ABC just had a Draft Grade show.................

At the very end the five guys on the stage that included Damien Woody and Mel Kiper were asked to pick a 2019 Rookie that they thought would stand out. Stupidity was the keynote....

First guy said that the Browns would win the AFC North
Woody said that the Bills Defense would be the best.
Third Guy said that Devin Bush would be the Steelers ticket to the AFC North Championship.
Fourth guy said that N'Keal Harry would surpass Julian Edelman's production

Last but not least.............Mel Kiper said.........................

The Indianapolis Colts would be the AFC Champiuons.

Talk about AFU..........Ab should be ashamed of that program.

Plausible. But all are highly unlikely.

Guys.......they can't follow a simple instruction. Pick a rookie, not a team or anything else, just pick a rookie.

Amazing isn't it? More than one third of the first round pucks options were not picked up. What does that say? It says trhatmoire than a third of the supposedly top players in each college draft are not NFL ready and are not NFL players. After 5 years those guys in the top 15 or 20 should be extended and mot just picked up.

Just my opinion.

They might be NFL worthy players, just not at the fifth year option rate.
Or they were not the first round savior for a tea that needed coaches as much as first round talent.

Or they could be busts. It happens every year.

Isn't Vinatieri still kicking? If he retired I just didn't see it.
Good point Adam signed in 1996 from a team in Europe.
The statement should read Brady is the only player drafted, still playing.

That now makes Brady the last player from any draft class 2000 or earlier.

It does say that. I knew AV was still playing and was never drafted, which is why I wrote it that way.

Sports Illustarted.com beggib for clicks. This is one of those, "Let's see if we can create some controversy in this horribly boring time of the football year!!"

First things first: It would have been hard for the New England Patriots to get a whole lot better after winning the Super Bowl in February while their 41-year-old quarterback takes another trip around the sun.

But it’s still pretty jarring to say the defending champions “got worse,” yet that’s exactly what SI.com contends in a recent story about the NFL teams who will at least start the season in worse shape than they ended the 2018 campaign.

And it’s not like the Patriots didn’t do things this spring to address any lingering needs, but the biggest issue the Patriots have faced in this offseason is the retirement of surefire Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski.

“So New England lost the greatest tight end in NFL history and is replacing him with Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who is not the second- or even the third-greatest tight end in NFL history,” SI.com’s Gary Gramling wrote. ” … No matter how you slice it, one of the roster’s biggest strengths is now a relative weakness for the Patriots.”

But, as Gramling also notes, “Those melvins will probably barely even win the Super Bowl this year.”

It’s hard to argue with the logic, though, which is kind of obvious, isn’t it? The Patriots won’t have an all-time great this season, therefore they won’t be as good. Fairly simple. New England by most accounts had a very good draft, and the Patriots made a couple of intriguing moves like trading for former Pro Bowl rusher Michael Bennett and drafting potentially explosive receiver N’Keal Harry out of Arizona State in the first round. But questions remain at the tight end position, especially given the suspension of recently signed Benjamin Watson, and the wide receiver depth is an injury or two from evaporating.

Regardless, the Patriots should once again contend for a Super Bowl this season, meaning any talk of them being “worse” should be probably be viewed as strictly relative.
