A friend in Memphis who goes to all home games assures me that Tony Pollard is all you think he is. Solid all around.
if this kid can even closely resemble Lindsey from the Broncos & come out of nowhere. I would be ecstatic.

Well that is simple.
Coaching. The fact we can even make the playoffs with basic coaching should be proof of talent evaluation of players.
So you now are an expert on coaching as well as talent evaluation. Maybe you could apply for a position as a college scout. I'm sure Jerry would be impressed with your incredible knowledge.

dont need to be an expert. Just pay attention how defenses call the offensive plays out before the snap. Common sense can take you a long way.

& I didnt say I was good at talent evaluation. I said they (the Cowboys staff) were good at it therefore I am trusting them.
Already admitted I have no clue on the guys we drafted this year.

Commonsense is something you lack but you seem to think your opinions are great.

Fair to middlin' I would say.
but
since I use common sense to form my opinions I would venture to say. They are usually better than yours! :finger:
Actually no. I try to evaluate the selections without homer glasses on and am willing to take heat for my comments.
:kissass:

Hell the Rams offense knew our defense just on how the DL set up.

Safety looks to be a glaring need on this team like to OL used to look. IMHO. The DL has holes 2 that’s why the Rams gashed us inside in the playoffs. Safeties don’t cause holes at the line of scrimmage like that in the defense. Now from what I have read about the Hill pick Maranelli and Richards we’re both onboard with picking him. Football 101 says outstanding DL play makes the safety’s and CB’s better. Just like outstanding WB play makes WR look better.
Now this could look like the Taco pick and I was not happy about it but I understand the thinking that went into it and the guard pick in the 3rd.
They have a plan some of us are on board and buckled in and some are loading up the gear ready to riot at the Star and some of us don’t think they have a clue about the coaching staff and temper our expectations accordingly. Executing that plan has not been achieved since Jimmy went fishing in Florida.
Will this be the year who knows but it’s spring not December the I told you so’s are a bit early for any camp your in.
Relax and let’s enjoy the ride and be damn glad the giants still suck Snyder still owns the redskins, we don’t live in Philly and are fans of The Dallas Cowboys !!!!

I really like the 1st three players we took. I was pisst that we did not take a safety, but spent the past few days researching the haul. Maybe outside of the 1st three someone surprises, but who knows? Mcgovern is a real good player and will start next year and possibly this year. Hill is explosive and had a good motor. Pollard is better than Dunbar. time will tell on everybody else

My big issue with Pollard is simply will we use him. I'm starting to really like what I am reading about him. We obviously need a KR.

You bring up Dunbar which I think is a good scheme comparison on Offense. Well, we never used Dunbar's skill set. We brought in Austin last year, but we didn't use his skill set (I know he missed time). The key to having guys like this is to get them the ball in space and let them do their thing and make plays. This was one of my biggest problems with Linehan and something I'm hoping Moore changes. If we don't make a concerted effort to get Pollard and/or Austin the ball in space all over the field where they can run and use their explosiveness then the moves are simply wasted. But, if we do :hope: then it can change everything for this Offense and make us harder to defend and less predictable and more explosive and dynamic.

With any luck the Rams comments that they knew the defensive call just off of the way the DTs lined up is fixed with the coaches pulling their heads out of their asses.

That context has been the source of my displeasure over taking another in round 4 when we have other deficiencies. The way I see him reach his full potential is for us to use 2 back sets with Zeke and Pollard so we can keep the defense guessing. Otherwise, I don't see how we will confuse the defense by taking Zeke off the field and bringing in the receiving RB. Even if the defense checks to dime I don't see us being able to break open running lanes for this kid to be able to take advantage. And no, we aren't looking at the next Kamara in terms of speed/receiving prowess. Hope I'm wrong and this kid has a fantastic work ethic and can grow rapidly into something I don't see from his college tape. A KR with his skill was needed, but we don't need to hear lavish comparisons immediately after the draft and plans to get him the ball a ton. Especially when our immediate history says the opposite will likely happen.

I'm thinking out of the slot would be where we can use him best...but that's what I thought about Austin last year so...

I'm calling it now, Pollard will win the Slot position. If not in 19 by 2020 he is the primary guy in that spot.
