I remember the 30 for 30 on him and a part of it was saying he wasn't a bust at all on the field. His body broke down and people remember him getting trucked by Bo but he actually was good.

He was a bit before my time so I never saw him play on the field, but I've heard people say he was very mediocre and others say he actually wasn't that bad.

As a Hawk fan I was thinking of Aaron Curry. What a bust he turned out to be. On a side note, I have a barely worn Curry jersey for sale, cheap.

Wow, Wake Forest?

I remember that guy, had all the measurables that made him look like a future star

He was a decent player, but the incoming hype and his own attitude pretty much made it near impossible for him to live up to expectations. The injuries that forced his career to end early adds to the perception that he's this massive bust - or certainly is enforced by those who were rubbed the wrong way by him.

A similar case would Tony Mandarich but at least he had something like a 8-10 year career.

Tony Mandarich

NFL Draft bust explains fall from grace: 'I was taking 40, 50, 60 painkillers a day'

Tony Mandarich is widely considered one of the biggest draft busts in NFL history.

The Green Bay Packers selected the offensive lineman with the No. 2 pick in the 1989 NFL Draft out of Michigan State – where he'd been named an All-American. However, Mandarich only played three seasons with the Packers before a forgetful stint with the Indianapolis Colts from 1996 to 1998.

Mandarich explained in an interview with ESPN that he had troubles with steroids and painkiller abuse during his time in the league.

“I was taking 40, 50, 60 painkillers a day, and drinking,” he said.

He said he used steroids while at Michigan State, which he attributed to the success he had in college. He said he stopped once he got to the NFL because of the league’s drug testing.

Mandarich said he lost 10 percent of his strength after quitting steroids. He was out of the league for five years between his time with the Packers and Colts to get healthy.

Now, Mandarich said he’s working as a photographer.

Who would you take at number 2? If your drafting that high, you don't take the BPA, you take the biggest need or in this case second biggest need.

All 5 positions were a need at that time. My personal draft philosophy is you target defensive front 7 high in the draft. As much as I love Barry and would've loved to have him in Green Bay, I don't see myself taking him there, I personally probably go Derrick Thomas.

Yah. The season before he retired he wasn't too terrible. He did rack up over 100 combined tackles... couple defensive TDs, and he picked up some sacks here and there.

I think the talent was there, but CLEARLY that man did not care about playing NFL. If he'd truly dedicated himself to playing NFL and listening to the coaches, I think he could've been a routine pro bowler. He clearly just didn't give a fuck and then that fuckhead Ruskell gave him a 6 year $60M/$34M guaranteed contract, lol.. no wonder he quit.

Shouldn't the worst player list be of guys who started games over a few years.

The list just a bunch of busts.

I can agree on this, except I would take Manziel out. I still think he will get a shot and have a chance for redemption to some extent. I'd move Trent Richardson to number 9 and just go ahead and pencil in Baker Mayfield at #10, I figure he'll deserve to be there after this season. Maybe add RG3 in there somewhere?

Ahmad Carroll comes to mind. A DB the Packers took in the first round who never saw a receiver he couldn't hold or a pass he couldn't interfere with

Since that list is a year old we should now include Nate Peterman.
