For arguments sake let's say Tyrion is a Targaryen. Doesn't this make him the heir to the Iron Throne, and if so, doesn't this make Sansa the queen.

Sansa wants to be queen so bad I am pretty confident so would not hesitate to kill off Dany.

Also, besides saving humanity, hasn't Jon's wishes only been to free the North.

So, in the end Sansa gets her queen throne, Jon rules the now free North because Sansa wants the North people free too, and Tyrion moves the throne to Casterly Rock which he has wanted forever.

To much of a happy ending for Martin though?

IF he is indeed a Targ, he would be a bastard (assuming he was the Mad King's and Joanna Lannister's kid). While he would have somewhat of a claim, it would not be nearly as good as the claim of Dany or Jon, so i don't think "heir" would be accurate.

How about this...Jamie asked to be under Brienne's command for this battle. I'm betting Brienne sacrifices herself to save Jamie (and they will throw a dying kiss in there). Jamie understands further what real love is...which makes Cersei's betrayal all the more motivating. Setting Jamie into a vengeful rage...enough to fulfill Cersei's prophecy.

Calling it.

Yeah the whole “knighting” scene makes it more likely that she dies for him instead.

Either way, one of those two is dead as shit lol

I was wondering how that whole bastard thing would work out in this situation.

I get this point. But the next 4 episodes are all well over an hour and I think each one is going to be PACKED with plot. They are claiming that next week's episode will have the longest battle scene EVER? IMO, I don't think they will have much time to do character development.
They are comparing it to Helms Deep.

That's quite the bar to set, and boast of exceeding.

Even if he were legitimate, Jon's claim would be first among them as the son of the Mad King's eldest son.

Like in the real world, Prince William's children (despite being toddlers) have priority over their adult uncle, Prince Harry.

Prince Harry doesn't have royal blood anyway.

Good point. I will admit I am not up to date on heir business. The thought seemed to clean to me anyways.

I think it's intentional to not discuss the strategy much at all on screen so the viewers don't know what to expect to see during the battle.

yeah, i like the only startegy we have of using brandon as bait:

I think Grey Worm is the first death we see.

I did not like how they made Tormund a sad sack for this episode. The getting sloppy drunk, the pathetic boasting.

It really takes him down a peg, and the sad disgust from everyone around him... I just didn't like that sequence.

I think the NK really wants two things. 3ER, and Baby Sam. That baby was promised to him, and he wants it. And I'm not sure how that's going to go.

My read on Tormund on that scene (and to some extent all the parties in the room) was that each person there has sat in a room by a fire with others and had a drink. But many of them come from different places and different walks in life. Tormund was being Tormund in that moment...much like a Wilding. Hell....even his flirting reminded me of the Wilding scenes from way back.

In the light of day, this is how I feel about 8-1 and 8-2... I got some good chuckles at the character interaction, but yeah... Delete the "magic dragon ride" scene, extend 8-1 out to an hour and a half and combine the two...

As Bran put it, "We don't have time for this...".

I felt much the same as I watched the episode last night....I loved all the reuniting and connecting....but it felt time for...time for so action.

Thinking more on it....next week is touted as the longest filmed battle in movie or TV history. Must be expensive. Probably going to be expensive from here on out. Yes, money is not a super constraint here....but budgets are budgets. Perhaps that led to stretching the cheaper stuff to do from one long ep to two ep's. Oh well.

So odds that anyone in the crypts makes it out of this episode alive?

I was daydreaming the other night while thinking of the crypts and the fact all the past kings of Winterfell have iron swords. Not likely, but wouldn't it be cool if the Stark kings, unique among men given their history with the Wall and the Others, did reanimate but fight FOR Winterfell?

Hmmm...thats super interesting. I would love to see something like this.

It made me think of Benjen for a moment. Its never said, but I always read it that he was possibly dead, reanimated and fighting it off. Maybe something of an immunity is in the Starks for this.

Just enough to set up the ultimate betrayal in the end. Perhaps Sansa weds Jon …
