I mean....
Nobody can guard Giannis 1 on 1.
But if I had to pick 1 defender on the entire league to do it, it might be Marcus Smart.
He has a unique combination of lateral speed, strength, toughness and desire that makes him really good against taller players. I don't think that matchup would be 1 that Giannis would much look forward to.

Remember how Beverly was giving KD all he could handle for a couple games because of his physical style?
Well, Smart plays a lot like Beverly on D except he is bigger and stronger. He can get in on his hands and body up with Giannis. Sure, Giannis can shoot over Smart, but you probably want Giannis shooting mid range jumpers instead of getting to the rim.

Exactly, that's the difference between KD and Giannis, at least in this regard. A small guy can only harass KD, eventually he just shoots over him. A small but strong defender can prevent Giannis from moving towards the hoop (not every play but enough to matter), he can't just shoot that well to neutralize it. Draymond as a smaller very strong guy will probably be the primary defender on Giannis if they meet in the Finals. He won't stop him of course but if he can slow him down and make him inefficient that oughta do it.

The way to limit Giannis is to make him take jumpshots but at this point even that is very difficult to do. Plus he is such a dominating rebounder it is getting to the point he is unstoppable without a jumpshot and that is scary. He just posts up and dunks on them, I mean he dunks on 7 footers ffs.
Giannis, right now, is pretty much unstoppable. He can pretty much take a backseat this series vs Detroit though, he has played limited minutes. I think he will excel against Boston. I remember Jaylen playing Lebron somewhat tough but it not mattering much. Giannis has scored 30+ points in every game vs Boston this series. Should be a great series for him and in general. Looking forward to this one.

the pistons really never had a shot in this series in my opinion. they were out performed in every match up going into this series
