Not sure how many posts we'll get per game, so making a series thread instead of a game thread.

Barkley says he's looking forward to Capela and Gobert going at it.

Shaq gets into an argument about semantics, and says that they're not post players, so they won't really be going at it.

The argument continues, and Barkley finishes with saying that Rudy Gobert would have blocked Shaq's shots.

:)

Jazz offense looks good, as they're aggressive and able to move the ball.

They had the lead for most of the game so far, but now trail 14 - 17.

They gave up a 4 point play to Eric Gordon.

Hey @Ojb81. Thoughts on any of the other playoffs games this weekend?

i was pretty stunned by how lame the sixers looked, at home, to start the playoffs. I figured they'd be all kinds of fired up to show that they've "completed the process" and that they'd be a formidable team to at least get to the ECF. if game 1 is any indication, the nets might very well win in 5.

oh, and lucky for Boston, Indiana went to sleep in the 3rd quarter, but Boston better not count on that happening with regularity. They need to get in the habit of starting fast

I was surprised at that 3rd quarter for Indiana too. They had played so well in the first half.

Brooklyn has been a pretty good road team for several years. What I mean is that I see them win some pretty big games, regularly. Or they're competitive on the road.

But, I didn't think Philly would look that bad.

If Philly loses, "Completed the process" is going to sound like a bad inside joke.

Houston averages 33 points in the paint per game.

They have 34 at the half.

We might actually have a game here. Man, the rockets complain about every damn foul called against them.....no matter how obvious. Gets very annoying.

One radio host says the two hottest teams are facing each other.

He says both screwed around in the regular season too much, and lost too many games early, and this is what happens.

To me, regardless, if the Jazz are good, then they'll have to be able to beat a team like the Rockets.

There's not much point posting about game 2, until it's close.

I would love the Jazz to win, but realistically, my goal was to not lose by 17 or more. I wanted to cut the 32 in half or better.

With the score being 70 to 44, would it be realistic to have a goal of losing by half the deficit? Consider that they may rest and they may slow and we should be motivated to do something.

Sit Mitchell, Gobert, and Ingles the rest of the game. If they are not within 20 points by halftime next game, sit them. If not within 15 by the first quarter of Game 4 and we’re down 0-3, sit them for the year.

Darn it! You were live for the game thread!

This could have been our first live game thread.

I didn't know you were going to be live, so I stopped checking.

So the goal for this next game is the same. Cut it in half. Cutting 16 by 1/2 is eight and so that is the optimist. (32 in game one, 16 and game two, eight in game three, and four in game four.) But since we lost by 20 instead of 32, cutting 20 in half is 10 and so that’s the pessimist.

Seriously, my real goal is for Mitchell to have a great game and for us to win. We’re not going to win the series in my opinion. I don’t think we’re going to even have six games but I couldn’t say absolutely no.

But I don’t want a good game by Mitchell in game three (loss) and a great game four (loss). A great game and losing would be OK in game three.

In other words, I don’t want him to show up when it doesn’t matter. I don’t think we have a chance of winning, but showing up in game four whether we win or not, I think it wouldn’t matter. We need a great game three.

I know, I know, I should want to great game and a win for every game. 16 and 2. But if I’m going to want something unrealistic, it is no fun for me.
