Few will say he is the hit king, and nobody will confuse him with being one of the GOATs, but a HOF'er he is. One of the more interesting baseball careers you will ever see.
He's not the hit king, Rose had more hits as a pro if you count his minor league seasons.

Still, might be the only guy to win batting titles in the US and Japan.

See, that's moreorless my point. Few will buy he is the hit king, nor do I - for the record. However, that is in many ways, emblematic of the interesting and textured career Ichiro had in baseball.

yeah definitely an interesting character. The guy had a weird batting stance, a rocket for an arm in the outfield and hit everything coming his way and had the same weight as a kid in high school kid on the volleyball team

Was it the Detroit Tigers GM back in 2001 that said they weren't interested in Ichiro and they wanted a power hitter and verbally said they would pass on him
