"The Patriots and RB Brandon Bolden have reached agreement on a two-year deal, a source confirms. This is a homecoming for Bolden, who played for the Patriots from 2012-2017 before spending the 2018 season in Miami after being cut by New England right before the season. Had Bolden not left for Miami, he probably would have returned to the Patriots one week later after RB Jeremy Hill tore his ACL in the season-opener and New England needed reinforcements. Bolden, 29, is more of a reserve and strong special teams and locker-room presence. His return should be well received by teammates from a culture standpoint. NFL Network first reported the agreement between the Patriots and Bolden." - M.Reiss

Not news to most of you, but I'm glad to hear it. He's a great Special Teams player, locker room guy, and can fill in respectably as a back, if needed.

I told my kid it was due to the one game in Miami where he went wild on the Pats.
His answer was "they gave him the ball and look what happened".
Not sure on this one myself.

Sorry but NE knew his ability and likely didn't plan for it.
This time it was BB getting caught with his pants down in Florida.

The entire coaching staff got caught with their pants doenin that game.

The Dolphins have sold more than 25,000 "Miricle in Miami" tee shirts since the 'lateral to end all laterals'.

I disagree with the "pants down" comment. The saying goes "everyone else is playing checkers while BB is playing chess". Well, both teams want to win and sometimes the other team brings their "chess game" too.

Congrats to them. They won their SB while NE went on to win SB LIII.

Me and Belichick disagree. He's a gamer.
Hard for me to disagree with BB. But Bolden is a ST player only. NE already has Slater, Ebner already filling that role. They have at least 3 RBs on the roster. IMO they need a guy who can get on the field not just for STs.
I think the last adjective I would use to describe him would be gamer.

On the rare occasions Bolden got to carry the rock he looked good, IMHO. My one regret to him taking up a RB roster spot is that I really want to see Jeremy Hill back with the Pats. He gives us a strong up the middle runner in the red zone.

Hill is baxk, just don't know if his knee is capable of allowing him to be the RB he was prior to blowing out the ACL.
As far as Bolden i concerned, he's returning to a spot he previously occupied and that someone else filled last year. The roster has 53 players of which 7 are not dressed each week. Why get all in a tizzy about roster spots in March?? This team will have 90 players take the field on the opening day of camp and come September 10th, 37 of them will be unemployed. Multiply that by 32 and that's 1184 players who will be selling insurance, on practice squads or bagging groceries at Food Lion. Worrying about Brandon Bolden taking up a roster spot is the least of our worries.

No I don't think Hill is needed. Given his injury he can probably be signed later if the need arises. I was just pointing that out in reference to an earlier post that said that he was back.

I said he was back. I was thinking more that he was back from the IR and 'available.'
The RB position is fine but there's always room for a rookie or a proven vet at the minimum.
