Urban Meyer comes across like a serial killer. Weird, dead eyes, blank expression, no emotion. Will not watch.

That doesn't look like a blank expression. Looks like he's constipated.

Meh, if I'm gonna watch a pregame show for anything, I need loose cannons that will trigger people for entertainment value.

I'd even watch the MLB pre game shows if John Rocker and Curt Schilling were the hosts.

This show definitely needs Clay Travis.

College GameDay is a tradition for a lot of College Football fans, like me. Though, it won't be the same when Corso leaves. Maybe that's why they're doing this.

While this network has been in a freefall for years, this is going to be a major blow to one of it's biggest show:

Fox Hires Urban Meyer, Reggie Bush For Revamped CFB Studio Show

Who in the world would rather watch Gameday with a senile Corso and that meathead Pollack bumbling around for 3 hours, sandwiched around some stupid human interest piece than this?

Brick by brick, the WWL continues to crumble.

Be honest with me, are you creating this thread if it was anyone not associated with Ohio State that fox hired?

Because Watching Urban and Reggie talk football does absolutely nothing to move the interest meter.

The reason Fox failed last time was they had the stupid studio show that was just like their NFL show. This ain't the NFL. Get to a campus every week and it will generate energy.

Otherwise, they could hire Vince Lombardi and it won't work.

The show was perfect before Corsos stroke, and when it was just he, Fowler and Herbstreet, with Erin Andrews as the eye candy.

I like Corso, but ESPN needs to suck it up, and send him off. It's just awkward now.

Between that, and ESPN being on cable. FOX had a chance to chip away at that market if they're on network tv, whole Gameday stays on cable. Not saying it'll overcome or even be better (who knows though), but it could get eyes by being more convenient.

Why would you take that cast? Simply because it's Meyer? He wasn't all that good on TV the last time around. Obviously he has knowledge, but so does everyone else. Rece Davis is great, Herbie is great. But the best thing about CGD is the atmosphere, not the analysis. I don't watch it that much anymore either, but what Fox is throwing together certainly won't make me watch theirs either. And I'm a huge fan of Quinn obviously.
Rece Davis is fine, Herbie is nothing special at all. Corso has gotten more and more annoying as the years go by. He's more a sideshow than a respected source. The show in general just isn't as enjoyable as it used to be.

What was wrong with Meyer his last time around? He doesn't have a ton of charisma on camera, but I could care less. I'm going to take his POV on college football today more than guys like Herbie and especially Pollack. I enjoy Rob Stone, and what's so bad about Leinart or Quinn?

This reminds me of the move NFL Network made to try and combat the Sunday morning ESPN programming, and I haven't tuned into ESPN Sundays for probably 2 years.

If it was virtually anyone else associated with OSU, probably not. Hell, Robert Smith was on the show last year and I didn't say anything. Objectively, having one of the best CFB coaches of all-time on your broadcast is a big boost. I'll take his analysis over anyone on CGD right now, and it has nothing to do with him coaching at OSU. If it was Saban, I'd have made this same thread.

Can I point out one minor issue I have with this? Urban is still employed at OSU. Fox has basically hired an Ohio State employee to try and be some impartial TV show host. No thanks. At least with Herbstreit there's an attempt at hiding his bias. Fox should make Urban cut ties with the University.
