So....Bill Oram from The Athletic was just on The Dan Patrick Show and they came up with an interesting scenario...

Suppose in the off-season the Lakers and Pels are trying to negotiate a trade for AD, talks aren't progressing and the Lakers come back with 'We'll give you Lebron for AD"?

To be clear, both Oram and Dan Patrick said that the Lakers would never do this because they are too loyal as an organization.

But both agreed that, with the young talent they have, it would set them up for the long term and would likely make them more attractive to guys like Klay or Kawhi.

I bet I know what @ChiefsLakers67 thinks. lol

Why would the Pelicans want LeBron? Unless you are trying to win now which they are not.

Lol at the Rockets bitching about the officiating
Chris Paul has always been a little bitch when it comes to officiating. I realize that most every player in the NBA bitches about calls, but Paul tops the list.

Can't say I ever considered Paul one os those guys, but Harden for sure should never complain about a call.

:noidea:

The best reason I can think of would be to put butts in seats. Maybe they'd figure that a couple of years with Lebron while he's still Lebron could get them a couple of playoff runs?

They are currently 24th in attendance with AD, I'd expect they may drop to the bottom of the league without him.

Unless they traded him for someone like Lebron. They'd sell more tickets and have a lot more games televised nationally. So from a revenue perspective, it would be great for them.

I agree with Oram and Patrick that the Lakers won't do that and if I'm the Pels, I wouldn't either.

I'd just bite the bullet and embrace tanking for a couple of years.

Apparently, the rumor is that the NBA will do away with the 19 year old age limit beginning in 2021, so that draft is expected to be ridiculous because it will have both one and dones and straight from high school guys. So, I'd trade AD for as many young guys and picks (especially 2021 picks) as I can get).

Literally every foul call against Harden last night was the right call. Just had to say it.

Harden complaining about refs is very funny. He gets so many BS calls that go his way. He has attempted close to 100 more FT's than any other player. He lives at the FT line. Kinda ridiculous

Always used to say MJ should never have been allowed to cry about calls....then Lebron.....Harden is on that list.

Firstly, that's a nice ass shot in your Avatar.

But, I'm assuming you lost a bet?

Secondly, Cp3 has always been a winer and a bitcher.

At his teammates...

At the refs.....

He's never committed a foul in his life.

It's never his fault.

Before, people lived with it because he was one of the best Pg's in the NBA and a top 10 player.

Now, he's slightly above average as a player and one of the WORST contracts in the NBA.

He's not John Wall bad.

But, he's top 5 worst.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty funny. It's kind of understandable though. The guy gets away with that crap all of the time. He initiates the contact, pushes off and there's either no call or a foul is called on the defender.

If memory serves, when Reggie Miller used to do that leg kick on jump shots, there was a ref or 2 that didn't let him get away with it and he used to complain about them.

Apparently, the ref they were complaining about tends to call those on him where others don't.

I hate y'all and want y'all to lose every game from now to INFINITY.

Except against the Rockets.

As you know, I was never a Paul fan and wish him ZERO chips.

But, he's not even the reason I despise them.

Well, not the #1 reason.

I hate Harden's game.

His nightly parade routes to the foul line is fucking ridiculous when he is the one who initiates the contact.

It's such bullshit.

Because sometimes it's not always about the wins, it's about the bottom line too. Lebron on any time is going to revitalize the entire economy around him. That's how big a draw he is. Ticket sales and merchandise will go through the roof.

Lebron and maybe a handful of other guys in the NBA are significantly worth more than their contracts. Steph Curry is probably on that level. Giannis right now too. If given a free market, Lebron is probably worth 70-80M a year based on his ROI he gives to the team, even at his current level of play.

It would be hilarious if they traded LeBron.

But, I was thinking something a bit more horrific for Lakers Nation.

If they strike out on Free Agents and Brow lands someplace he wants to stay....

Chris Paul.

Magic, don't do it!!!!!!!

They wouldn't. That would be a dumb trade

From a "re-building for the future" perspective, it would be pretty shortsighted and dumb.

From revenue perspective, it would be very good. Especially if they could put together a few vets and get a couple of playoff runs out of it.

It's the Pels and we know they've done dumb things in the past, so who knows?

Although, they did finally fire Demps...maybe Ferry is smarter?

Draymond Green?

Yeah, but Draymond's not always bitching about calls against him either. He's constantly bitching to refs to protect his teammates. If you reduced the amount he bitched about shit for his teammates and got into the refs faces, he'd probably complain about half as much as he did now (which, let's be honest is still probably way too much).

I want it to happen just because it would be a hell of a blow for KLUTCH.

Could you fucking imagine?

All this fucking subterfuge to get LeBron a easy road to a chip and he's the one who inevitably gets Fucked over?

Lmfao
