not if you stick those NC teams with Clemson + FSU

it isn't like anyone in the Coastal is going to be able to beat Clemson and FSU (once they get the ship righted) on a consistent basis

But Clemson and FSU don't want to be in a division with the four NC schools.

well that could certainly be a problem, along with the ACC not wanting to go through a mess that involves a lot of unnecessary work

I think 3-5 are pretty interchangeable with OSU, UGA, and Oklahoma. All 3 have major personnel losses to deal with, but all 3 are loaded with talent.
Unfortunately with our schedule, barring a major collapse we wont have a clue about this team until well into October (or later).

I think Cincy will be better than TCU last year, but you're right. That 4 game stretch with Nebraska, MSU, NW, and Wisconsin could be interesting though.

Right...that's why I'm not sure if it will be beginning or later into October (or even November). Any of those teams you mentioned could be anywhere from contander to also-ran.

If your toughest game is deciding between a team coming off 4 wins, or a road game where 65% of the stadium will be Ohio State fans, that's pretty damn easy.

I think Wisconsin will be tougher than last year. I think they'll bounce back.

They lose 4/5 of their O-line and I think 5/6 starters on a defense that already wasn't good. Their OOC is shit, so I expect them to start out ranked like 24, lose once, and probably be ranked like 15th or some shit like that by the time the Ohio State game is played, you'll then beat them by 3 plus TD's and they'll find themselves unranked.

4 of their first 5 are at home. Yes that includes Michigan and MSU but I think they win both of those, I seriously could see them being undefeated going to Columbus. Given their schedule and the way they usually are I could see 10-2.

It's actually every 6 years ... the 12 year cycle encompasses home and away against each team.

Basically, you have a regular opponent in the other division, and then rotate through the other 6. Obviously, if we added an extra IC game, it would be home and away every 6 years.

I wouldn't mind going to a 9 game IC schedule. We play Ga Tech every year, and now that Johnson is gone that could turn into a more interesting game. UGa has also scheduled a solid OOC schedule in the past and in the future, so we've got nothing to be ashamed of.

Well OL is hardly ever a concern for Wisconsin. The game being at Wisconsin is also never an easy thing, as I'd guess it'll probably be at night.

As far as Nebraska goes, I know they won 4 games last year, but they all came in the second half of the year, including narrowly losing at Ohio State, and 5 of their 8 losses came by 5 points or less, so it's not like they were some miserable program with no momentum. There's a reason they're in nearly every early top 25 in the nation. Their QB is tied for 4th in the Heisman odds right now.

You play Wisconsin at home. And yeah I think nebraska will be better than last year too, but they are still probably a 7/8 win team. And their schedule is ridiculously easy as well.

Oh you are right, my bad. We have Nebraska and NW on the road. That's definitely better.

All in all, it's not an easy schedule. There are at least 6 teams on the schedule that should be ranked at some point, and that's not including Michigan State, who I honestly can't get a read on. On the plus side, they return a lot from one of the best defenses in the nation last year, but their offense still has no identity whatsoever, so who knows.

There's 6 teams on Nebraska's schedule that will be ranked as some point? I mean I guess, as most of the west teams play such shitty OOC schedules.

No, I meant OSU's. Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Nebraska, Penn State, and michigan will all likely be ranked to start the year or right outside of it.

I’m going to bullshit anyone who thinks they can get a read on Michigan State. They have more split personalities than the psycho in Identity.

And only 3 of them will have earned it based off last year and who is returning. Osu's schedule as a whole is still pretty easy though.

Can’t you say that about many of the fringe top 25 teams?
