Which teams start the year with a new QB?

High Probability
Miami
Jacksonville
Ravens (figuring Flacco started the year in '18)
Washington

Possibility
Cincinnati
Denver

Maybe but doubtful
Giants (They draft a 1st rounder but Eli starts the year)
Carolina (Depending on Cam's Shoulder)
Tampa
Tennessee
Raiders
Philly (Based on Wentz starting the year in '18)

I expect Flacco to be the starter for 1 of 3 of those teams next yr.....Jacksonville may actually trade for him but the Skins and Denver will probably wait for him to be cut to sign him....Elway is cheap like Ozzie and can afford to wait....I don't think the Jags can with their qb situation...

I've now seen a few sportswriters linking Cleveland to Tavon Austin. Would be great to add him as a returnman and let Peppers focus fully on being a SS.

ESPN's Jamison Hensley considers free agent Mark Ingram a potential target for the Ravens.

The Ravens had the second most rush yards in the league last year, but they did it without a true feature back. Ingram is a strong scheme fit for OC Greg Roman, who has a history of success with late-career veterans. Landing in Baltimore would be a best case scenario for Ingram's 2019 outlook.

Cardinals signed CB Robert Alford, formerly of the Falcons, to a three-year, $22.5 million contract.

Per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the deal includes a healthy $13.5 million guaranteed. Alford was released by Atlanta just two days ago. He remained an every-down player in 2018, but his play slipped from the previous few seasons. Alford also turned 30 in November. He is not an impact player, but the Cardinals have spent years trying to find a legitimate option to pair with Patrick Peterson. The money suggests the Cardinals have already slotted him in as just that.

Couple of big name or at least players that will get paid big money that are far apart with their teams are CJ Mosley and Matt Paradis.

Mosley wants a lot of upfront guaranteed money where the Ravens want to protect the franchise in case of injury.

Paradis and the Broncos are not far apart money wise but Paradis got mad at the first offer they made as he found it very insulting and now won't talk to the Broncos.

Things can change in a hurry especially with the Combine coming up but wouldn't shock me to see both of those guys on new teams next year. Big bidding war would happen if they hit the market.

It's such a weak move to act all insulted and go silent instead of coming back with an offer from your side's perspective.

"I'm so insulted I'm gonna take my ball and go home."
:wtf:

Don't disagree. Most of these kids though are in their first time ever negotiating and have an agent telling them they are worth ridiculous money so then when an offer comes in half of what you thought you deserved it becomes an emotionally charged situation. You are right though these players need to learn to take the emotions out of it and understand this is how the business works.

I will say I did see the offer they made to him and I wouldn't have accepted the 2nd offer they made but it would have brought me back to the table. The overall money was good just the guaranteed part was pretty darn low.

As a DT, I would remind him what an emotional pussy he is as he's waiting to snap the ball on every 3rd down.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Dorsey go after Ronald Darby this FA season. He had ACL surgery in November, but was a solid CB before getting hurt. He might be able to be had on a 1 year deal, which Dorsey likes.

The Jets have about $139M in cap space.

They will overpay, Antonio Brown, LeVon Bell, Tre Flowers, Jared Cook, CJ Mosely, Trent Brown and Golden Tate. When that's done they'll still have enough to sign three or four more. I have a feeling that they've finally got some decent football people to run things and will challenge the Patriots. They'll probably sign Ryan Allen and Stephen Ghostkowski in an attemot to blow raspberries at Bill Belichick.

Darby is head case, one minute he's getting burned over and over and you're calling him every name in the book then wham he goes out and gets a turnover....:gaah:

Justin Houston to CLE kinda makes a lot of sense. He would play DE in their 4-3 or they can go get Anthony Barr in FA. A great pickup if they lose Collins

I don't think they'll be "losing" Collins so much as cutting him. He's got to go.

Houston would be fine but he's only ever played OLB. If we're going for a DE, I'd probably rather grab one in the draft. It could work with him but making that sort of position switch at age 30 is a gamble. I was really hoping for Graham but he re-signed with Philly.

I know it's a pipe dream, but if for some reason things don't work out with Grady Jarrett in ATL, I'd back the Brinks truck up to his door and then go grab someone like Clellin Ferrell in the draft. That would be a horrifying DL.
