Could be one of our two 4th round picks. I'm a little worried about the cap hit with Flacco's big salary and the dead money the Broncos get stuck with if they cut Keenum.

Exactly. I heard it's a mid round pick.

I liked Keenum and I dislike Flacco. Never have been a fan. Although the last QB we brought in I didn't like the move worked out pretty well, Peyton Manning. I thought there was too much risk to make that move. I hope looking back I have to eat my words on Flacco, but it is not the same.

I'm just not sure Flacco is any better than Keenum at this point in his career. He is injury prone and not all that great when he is on the field. He needs a strong OL and running game to be successful. His best days (recently) was with Kubes at OC, who was going to be a part of putting this offense together, but then it looks like they had a difference of opinion about how the offense should be run.

Overall, I don't see this as being a step forward. We get a guy who may be a little bit better, but is injury prone and way too expensive. Add in what we would have to eat to cut or trade Keenum and I don't know that is it worth all the money and time Flacco would spend learning a new system. But, maybe a change of scenery is what Flacco needs and we can squeeze some success out of his last couple of years?

Shame, Flacco is perfect for the Musgrave offense.

WTF is John smoking these days? Fucking idiot.

With this move we need to find a backup QB. Not sure who we can sign as a backup. Maybe we draft a guy with the idea when Joe gets hurt the Rookie can play. Only positive is there is no guarenteed money left so we can cut him at any point.

Seems like a pretty nothing trade to me.
Maybe a slight upgrade over Keenum, but maybe not. Case may have improved in a second year in Denver.
Case's numbers are very comparable to Flacco's, but the difference is that Case had played on a different team each season:
2016 - Rams
2017 - Vikings
2018 - Broncos

They gave up a 4th rounder for a maybe improvement.

Hey, Happy Valentine's Day all.......

Simple question, nit trying to ruffle tails or tail feathers. Rumor up here in New England is that matt Patricia has been talking to Bill Belichick about handing over Matthew Stafford for the Pats #32 in April. This is a rumor and I don't have anything more than the rumor.

Report out yesterday says that Patricia is looking for a first round pick for Stafford.

Do you guys think that JE may have moved just a bit early? I certainly thyinkthat Stafford would be awesome playing for either the Broncos or the Patriots........I know you all have the someone you'd like to see the Broncos get with the #1, is Stafford worth it?

Thanks...............

Makes very little sense... Flacco, outside his 2012 playoff stretch, is middling, at best. His success in Baltimore was probably more a function of the defense then his high quality QB play...but regardless. Obviously John has decided that Case is not a long term answer...MY SURPRISED FACE...and so the Broncos currently don't have a QBOTF on the roster. Is there a long term fix in free agency? I'm a huge Teddy B fan and if I were going to spend a collective 30m on my QB position, I would have much rather gone with Bridgewater. At least with him there's still an unknown in terms of potential and ceiling. You know what you're getting in AFlacco and its really not much better than what you currently have with Keenum...that being said, if you're going to draft a QB with the #10 pick in the draft this year OR wait until there's a far better option NEXT year (please wait), why do you mortgage this much in cap space, paying two QBs who aren't going to be in orange probably past 2020. Why not just stick and stay with Keenum? Nope, lets compound one bad decision with another.

I believe Keenum would be as good or better then Flacco. Disappointed in this decision to say the least.
