The interesting part about this is that the Pelicans GM is pretty much a moron. I cannot believe ownership has kept him around as long as they have- esp. after how they totally failed in the Cousins trade.

The Bulls have some assets which might of made them interesting if they werent so bad.

Markenen and their first is the basis for a strong offer.

i dont think there is anyway he is dealt before the deadline
I concur.

Just makes no sense from the point-of-view of the party that counts the most: The N.O. Pelicans.

No way. We already know that the Lakers don't trade for star players. They will wait until AD becomes a free agent like with PG and Kawhi.
I just dont see much value in the Lakers offer.

I mean, Ingram and Ball have been disapointments- and with Ball you have his injury issues and the fact that his dad would prob. turn into a flaming maniac with Ball in New Orleans on a bad team.

Kuzma is interesting but hes not far off from getting paid and he plays no defense--- hes a good player- but id rather have a Markenen or a Knox who are younger, have higher ceilings and are farther away from pay-days.

the Cousins trade doomed them.

If they had Hield and the first rounder and used it on someone decent the team would look so much better. They should have resigned Cousins---- after the trade they were pot-committed on him. He was the key to keep Davis long term and they fucked it up.

once the summer comes along they can see where some of these lotto picks fall.

If the Knicks get inside the top 2- that all of a sudden becomes very interesting.

If the Knicks could sell Davis on coming there- playing with Porzingis, and signing or trading for a 3rd high level talent in the back court it becomes very interesting.

I gotta say--- id much rather take a package of Knox and Zion/Barrett over anything out there besides a possible Celtics package that included a boatload of picks and a young stud like Brown.

If the Celtics offer Tatum i gotta think its goodnight Irene.

I guess you missed the part where he wants to go to a contender. The Bills won't, but if they traded for AD.....it'd be a rental. I doubt AD would stay there when his contract was up and that trade for AD would fuck over the Bulls for a while after AD leaves.

if you have the cap space and assets you can create a very viable contender around Davis very quickly.

The Bulls have tons of cap space and are a viable FA destination. SAy they trade Markenen and the #3 pick for Davis---- go out and sign a major free agent, and develop WCJ and fill out the rest of the roster.

or the same thing with the Knicks----

What if you told Kyrie Irving---- hey- Porzingis is coming back, we can get Davis for the #2 pick and Knox and Ntilikina, and you can come here and own New York and be the best team in the East?

ya think Davis is leaving money on the table and leaving Kyrie and Porzingis in New York City?

or something similar in Chicago?

who would you rather have?

Knox, the a top 3 lotto pick + more

or

Kuzma, Ball, Ingram?

I think thats an easy decision. Especially considering how Knox has looked, his age, how far he is away from his next deal, how close Ingram is to his next deal, and the headaches that you would get from Lonzo and his injury history.

I mean- if the Celtics offer Tatum and a handful of picks its all over though. Its goodnight.

an offer of Brown, Smart (and whatever ancillary guys like Yabusale, etc.) and picks would have to be weighed and measured against the other offers.

Brown, Smart, Williams III and 3 first round draft picks is a pretty dang good offer.

That's a rebuilding team bonanza.

AD sweepstakes:

The most-discussed teams:
Celtics
Lakers
Knicks

the Dark-horses:
Bulls
Sixers
Clippers

the Dark-Dark-Horse:
Nuggets

Nuggets could put together a package of Michael Porter Jr., Jamal Murray, Harris, multiple first rounders and not blink an eye.

Id rather have Knox, Ntilikina and a top 3 pick then Ball/Ingram/Kuzma

I think the only realistic destinations are Celtics, Knicks and Lakers- in that order.
I wouldn't.

You have no idea where the Knicks will pick.

4th or worst is Cam Reddish territory.

For Davis?

You've said it yourself.

You don't trade a dollar for 4 quarters.

Knox could be a quarter.

Frank is looking nickelish.

You might as well mentally prepare yourself to lose Tatum.

Give them everyone.

Kuz, Ingram, Ball, Zubac and picks.

You get Davis and have room for another max guy.

Seems pretty simple.

Lonzo and Ingram make the most.

They have to go.
I feel with Jrue on the table. Boston can get involved in a three way. Also Phoenix is not out of the question as well.

I strongly think this will involve at least three teams.

Also, dont give them everything lol. Although everyone is in position to sell high rn, i expect a trade before the deadline. I dont expect that to be the case in the summer where i feel the Lakers hand will be forced. I think Boston should go after Drue if they can afford him. Instantly makes them way better IMO.

Perhaps. I'm not sold on the necessity of yet, frankly.

Even when we rack our brains for other possibilities, I don't see any that outclass the package I proposed there. Most don't even come close.

Maybe if Philly were willing to trade Simmons... ?... but I don't think they are.

I guess we will find out.

See where lowball offers got the Lakers?

You aren't getting Davis without Tatum.

You are seriously overvaluing your players.

Plus, look how that Brooklyn pick worked out for the Cavs.

The thing that works in your favor is we will know where those picks land before you can trade for him.

Not many teams are in the position of offering a "lowball" offer that's better than any other offer out there.

So it's an interesting situation.
