Might be just heresay, but I think I recall somewhere reading that he'd actually might be less inclined to sign with the Lakers, citing his dad as a factor. Not that they have a bad relationship or anything, but I think on some level they clash with respects to basketball. Like it would be tougher for him to play in front of his dad on a nightly basis. Probably because his dad's critiques could be much more frequent and probably more distracting.

I can see that.

For that matter, while I'm sure his Dad would love to be able to watch every one of his games...he might not like having to remove his Dad hat and critique his son like he would any other player.

Maybe Mychal will retire from broadcasting so he can just watch his son as a fan (although I do like him as a broadcaster)? :hope:

lol

That's because that's happening towards the trade deadline this year. Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston for Anthony Davis and 4 future first round picks.

No way that beats the Lakers offer of Mo Wagner, Alex Caruso, a jersey autographed by Magic and a copy of the issue of Playboy with Jeanie in it.

Dude is very injury prone.

Good to miss 15+ games most years
Yup.

...and we know that the Pelicans will be dead Ducks if he misses a month.

So, no point in jeopardizing his pre-agency by risking further injury.

If he doesn't play another game this year, all of the other 29 teams would trade for him and pay him the max.

Speaking of the Pelicans, can someone remind me what they got for Buddy Heald?

Games played over 7 years.

64, 67, 68, 61, 75, 75.

Hmmm, I thought it was worse.

But, he has a pattern.

You pretty much nailed it at 15.

Half a Season of Boogie.

Unreal to realize the Kings won that trade.

Oh yeah and the Kings got draft picks too. Wow the Pelicans messed that up, Heald is going to be a Star.

Yep. This year he already missed 6. Out another 2-4 weeks. Should be about 20 for this season.

Actually been healthier than I thought but still not good.

Going to be the 5th time in 7 years where he missed at least 14 games. Not exactly what you want from a guy who is the superstar of your team.

I'll still take AD on my team any day but the fact that you can almost bank on him missing 15+ games is the only concern I would have

Bagley with 22/11/2 in his first career start, he should probably get a permanent move into the starting lineup now. Kings are unlikely to make the playoffs and the guy he started for has cooled off, might as well give the #2 pick that spot and see what he can do with it for the rest of the season.

I'm not sure that's on Davis though. I can't remember where I saw it, but about a month ago I saw some insiders talking on a show saying that the Pelicans training staff is notoriously bad. The Benson family is dirt cheap and doesn't care about basketball so they just brought over a bunch of staff members they had from their football team. Because of that, their medical staff has been poor at properly diagnosing basketball injuries and how to properly care and prevent them. Davis may very well be injury prone but its also a possibility that he could go elsewhere and be totally fine.

To be fair,

I think it turns out much differently if Boogie stays healthy.

Ironically, he seems like one of the more loyal stars out there. Boogie indicated that we wanted to stay in Sacramento, then again that he was hoping to resign in NO. We will never know for sure, but how many players in league history have been upset at getting traded out of Sacramento?

It's very concerning.

But, yeah....

I'd still take him in a nanosecond.

Buddy shooting like 56 percent from 3 point line is sick. He is well above anyone in the league.

Also if Westbrook continues to play like he did last night that team can go places.

It wasn't great the first half of the year.

But, it looked like they were about to turn the corner before he got hurt.

I think Webber, White Chocolate and Boogie complete the list.

Richmond was ready to go.

They believed the hype when they went on that run with Mirotic and then got cheap and decided not to pay to retain Boogie.

Randle was a nice pickup.

But, health has been a real issue for that roster this Season.

Vlade Divacs deserves a lot of credit for making the best of a terrible siruatiin. He targeted Hield and it’s working for them. These situations seldom work out like this.
