Would have been really nice if the Mets had picked up either one of Britton/Ottavino, instead Yankees get both.

Yeah, the Red Sox bullpen has a lot of ? marks. Kimbrel's still out there, wonder if they bring him back.

Maybe they keep Sonny? Just need him for 3 solid innings per start......

Problem is I have zero confidence he can give those 3 innings, especially in the Bronx.

I think they need to get what they can and run, even if it's a bag of baseballs and a ham sammich.

Oh I know, I wanted him gone since very early last year.....I've seen enough of Ed Whitson's son.....

Al Leiter has resigned from the YES network, and that sucks. Terrific analyst.

Allegedly to spend more time with his son, a pitcher projected to go in the first round in the June draft.

Better not catch his act on SNY is all I'm saying.

@nynasty I thought Singleton retired after last season?

Leiter’s decision came as a surprise to his boss, YES’ president of production and programming, John Filippelli. Filippelli had planned to up Leiter’s game schedule from 20 games to 35 to 40 this year.

“I didn’t see it coming,” Filippelli said.

Filippelli said YES will not add anyone new to replace Leiter. He said the breakdown on analyst games will be David Cone doing 80, John Flaherty 75 (including studio), Paul O’Neill 60 and Ken Singleton 25.

the concept of "1st ballot "and unanimous" are dumb. if you think someone's a HOFer, simply vote yes. don't hold previous sportswriter fuckups against a player.

What was even dumber than that. Was babseball writers unwritten rule that no player be unamiously voted into the Hof..................Until Mo that is.

He does deserve to be in the HoF though so congrats to him. Now those poopbutts need to get over their butt-hurt and elect Bonds and Clemens into the HoF.

just baseball writers being babies.

Bonds and Clemens should be in, but I think it's going to be another 2 years before they get in.

Yeah, he announced he was hanging it up, but they coaxed him back to do a very limited number of games.

Look out! :)

Yeah it seems like they took 30 games off his schedule and only 1 real road trip. The other 2 road trips are in Baltimore and Tampa where he own homes at. Very nice of them.
