I guess it took until a bad call affected which teams were in the Superbowl to consider this

The NFL will consider making pass interference calls reviewable after Rams-Saints gaffe

NFL leaders and the league's rulemaking competition committee plan to give consideration this offseason to making pass interference calls subject to instant replay review.

"It will be discussed at length along with additional fouls that coaches feel should be subject to review," said one person familiar with the league's inner workings.

If Brees arm was stronger the timing of the hit would have been perfect.

Maybe so but the guy who made the hit said he did it on purpose to prevent a TD he did not care that it was interference he was just surprised as hell that it was not called.

I am glad it was not called as it does not matter to me who is in the Super Bowl and with a Saints loss now it moves the Packers #1 pick they got from Saints up to #30

So in other words the league say's " okay Saints fans we hear your crying and will discuss this, but it doesn't change the outcome!"

The refs will still find other ways to fuckup a football game.

How about we make every call reviewable? At least let Gene Steratore or some other asshat overrule the dumbasses on the field.

Or we can just start deducting percentages from their game checks for fucking up so badly? Seems like they are overpaying for terrible quality of work.

Unworkable.

Pass interference or holding could be called on EVERY play.

There shouldn't be a single thing in pro sports that can't be reviewable when it has such a major outcome on a game. It's what instant replay was created for in the first place.

Nothing much else they can do at this point, is there. They admitted a mistake was made. I'm pretty sure the ref in question will be reprimanded or penalized in some way. There really isn't a damn thing that can be done about it.

They should do the same for roughing the passer. Too many BS roughing the passer penalties all year long.

Some of these reviews would take 30 seconds

Review everything like BB said.

But make it the last 2 minutes only.

And have it done in NY on a screen larger than a smart phone.

Actually, they could if they chose too. I don't think they will. I don't think even Roger Goodell is this heavy-handed. But, if this is true.....

Commissioner has authority to take action over Rams-Saints outcome, in theory

then he could if he chose too.

Yeah, but that would be a shit show, imo. And it would be wrong on many levels. Two wrongs can't make a right in this situation. At least, that's the way I see it.

I agree. I think that is a Pandora's Box that should never be opened.

Just pointing out that there is a rule that exists that would allow it to be.

I hope they never ever use it.

A non-starter. Who's to say that if the call was made and New Orleans got the ball at 1st and goal, that there would not be a sack-fumble or interception?

Whatever the solution is it has to be near real time and should not be done the next day or so by bureaucrats.

What a shocker, i was just explaining this to some moron in another thread...

I don't even like the Aints, but not being able to review a call makes very little sense logically if you can already challenge almost anything else
