1. If your going to eat a steak, eat in the restaurant, not take out..

This. I can't imagine sitting in a hotel room, eating a steak off a paper plate with plastic knife and fork. I prefer to not eat at all in my hotel rooms.

Go to the restaurant, sit at the bar and eat your steak. Then go to your hotel.

That's the question.

Me and the wife don't take any chances eating steaks and burgers at home that suck anyway.

About once a month we treat ourselves to Peter Luger's
Eh, I probably have red meat once every 2 weeks on average. Not necessarily because I'm trying to limit it. Just happens that way. But I'll cook a steak at home or put a roast in every once in a while. Not gonna live scared something MIGHT happen to me. I'm just going to live my life, in a healthy, fun manner.

I try to be healthy as well, but in my lifetime, I've known a lot of mother fuckers that eat a lot of red meat and I don't know a single person that's died of colon cancer.

Everytime its a bad idea. Ice cold by the time i get back to my hotel room, and rarely ever cooked right.

Not so much lately, but for 2 yrs, we lived in a development literally maybe 300-400 yds from a Chilis...at least once a week we ordered from take out there and the sirloin/baked potatoe/broccoli on what used to be their 2 for $20 entrée menu was my wife's favorite. I never had the steak, but generally speaking everything was good...even the sirloins.

Aside from that, I don't think we've ever ordered steak for take out.

I'm not a big red meat eater either (maybe 2-3 times a month), and were kind of the same way...nice restaurant out and enjoy.

Now that my grilling pad is finished, but I'm not sure Luger's or our local steakhouse would be any better than Patton's butcher cut steaks cooked on a Primo. The salesman that calls on Patton's is a friend of my boss (owner of the company)says the steaks he supplies them with are the same grade that he sells the big Buckhead steakhouses.

I'm not scared of food. Everything in moderation, truly. Enjoy your life while you can! It doesn't last forever.

Luger's serves a badass Porterhouse, though i prefer a ribeye... Never tried/heard of Patton's... will have to look it up

You probably shouldn't have heard of them...Patton's is a local butcher here.

My point was I've been to some very nice steakhouses and the sales guy that supplies most of these places went to school with the owner of our company...He said he sells the same prime grade beef to Pattons.

I wouldn't trust myself to pack and ship correctly, but maybe they do...Pattons, Duluth, GA...they could be Berkeley Lake, GA...right on the dividing line I think. I will ask do they ship when I go in next to gear up for the SB.

According to him, when you see those special kiosks set up in Costco selling prime steaks...same product. Not talking abut the regular stock stuff.
