I've gone back and read everything and perhaps it was me who assigned that political affiliation too quickly. I apologize for saying it was about politics. It said "Trump" and not "President" in the headline.

Still I'm sure College kids love lots of other food, not exclusively fast food. My opinion as a former college kid.

College kids tend to eat a lot of trash food. I lived of fast food, hamburger helper, hot pockets and Rahman noodles when I was in college.

But that was because like many college kids, I had no money and I couldn't cook.

Those are the folks who look to attack the President at every opportunity. To make an issue out of feeding college kids fast food is absurd and a huge reach.

IF you accomplished something great. Great enough to earn a personal invitation to the White House where a meal was served...

Are you telling me you wouldn't be disappointed if that meal was fast food?

I don't think Trump would serve that meal to a group of foreign nationals. Why serve it to these kids who are on what could be a once in a lifetime trip? It is tacky as hell.

Definitely not. Especially when I was in college. I love fast food. Its just another excuse for the left to criticize the President. This may be nonsense but I also read that the folks who would cater such an event were laid off because of the shutdown. I suppose one could twist his way into blaming that on Mr. Trump as well. I know I certainly believe he is at fault for this current shutdown; acting like a petulant child.
But this is a Warriors thread not a political one.

Great performance last night. I loved the defensive intensity and the excellent transition game. I would have liked to see the big lead built on ball movement and team work rather than outstanding shooting since that cannot be counted on as easily but I'll take it.
Warriors are back on top in the West and certainly showed the Nuggets who is the better team when they want to be.

You just can't help yourself.

They had 38 assists (and only 10 turnovers) but sure no ball movement :L

If you can honestly think of a good reason why Trump didn't just hire a small business caterer to provide a solid meal for these kids, I'd be open to hearing it.

Because these are 18-22 year old guys. From everything I've heard about it, the players absolutely loved it and thought it was awesome.

It wasn't just McDonald's either. From what I heard it was McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King and Papa John's pizza. All of which are staples for 18-22 year olds. lol

C'mon man. Why do you think that is?

I'm sure being Steph Curry's wife didn't hurt. But as a cook, she is absolutely legit. I've made a couple of her dishes.

Being his wife may have gotten her a look, but her skills got her the show.

No, I wouldn't. I don't care who provided it. The food was for the players. The only thing I care about is...did the players like it?

From everything I've read and heard, they loved it. So, I have no issue with it.

When I was in college? Hell no, I wouldn't have been disappointed. I'd have done exactly what the players apparently did...eaten as much as I could, as fast as I could. I'd have loved it and I actually could cook when I was in college. lol

Except these aren't foreign nationals. They are 18-22 year old college kids.

I do think it's funny that the only one's complaining are people who weren't there.

This is literally the only thing I took issue with @Montalban saying. She's legit as they come and wasn't some random house-wife critiquing the food choice, lol.

Again, I'm not ripping the President, Republican/Democrat. I'm just stating that if it was me, personally, I would have preferred a better food spread being provided by a Billionaire at a pretty prestigious event. And again I'm not talking anything swanky, just like some ribs, pulled pork sliders, mac and cheese, stuff like that. I'm sure that would have gone over extremely well with them don't you think?

I'm just genuinely curious, can you critique Donald Trump as an individual still or is he now only just the President? Because you can support a President and still not agree with their individual choices as a person. He didn't make the decision to serve food as the President because as you said, he paid for it out of his pocket. He did so as Donald Trump, billionaire.

Any critique I have of the situation is based on my own personal preference and unbiased towards political affiliation. I've been a college kid who lived off Jack-in-the-Box and Taco Bell for a vast majority of my time there. Doesn't mean that I wouldn't have appreciated the opportunity to have something of a little quality. As I said, I'd rip any billionaire who served fast food at a prestigious event.

Yeah, she's good. I worked as a chef for several years. Her food is absolutely legit. I've made her pulled chicken tacos and crispy rice. Both were really good. I'll be making more of her recipes.

I get your point, but again, we're talking 18-22 year olds. I don't know how old you are, but I'm in my 50's. If I were invited to the White House and served what those kids were...I wouldn't have been impressed. I wouldn't have complained (because I still like fast food), but I wouldn't have been impressed and might even have felt a little "slighted".

But as a college kid, I'd have absolutely loved it and would have been telling everyone about how awesome it was.

Like I said, from what I've read and heard, the players loved it and that's all I care about.

100% accurate.

As I said, it's my own personal preference and I think while there are a good amount of people ripping the President for his food choice because of political affiliation, there are plenty more ripping him just because it also wouldn't be their personal preference.

I'm in my mid 30's so a good ways removed from college. I lived on fast food as well in college because jack in the box tacos go extremely well with smoking a shit ton of weed.

Didn't seem like it watching that huge first half. Saw a lot of brilliant shooting but not the same ball movement and moving without the ball from two years ago. Some of that could be the addition of Durant with his style of play and losing Bogut.

He'll accept that argument from you but not from me. Maybe I'm the "Trump" to his "Pelosi"
