Any particular types of stories that people do not like or can't get into?

For me, it is easily 'time travel' movies. I can't stand them. I watch them all the time too, but my brain will not let me accept certain things lol so I keep looking until I find a problem... and I always do.

I like the general concept of the groundhogs day scenarios, but I did not like Edge of Tomorrow at all. I did think it was semi well made and genuinely funny, but I found the story completely ridiculous.

I liked both. I think they both had great takes on being stuck in a "Time Loop" Maybe the ending to Edge of Tomorrow was somewhat lacking but everything up to that was great imo.

Harry Potter movies are not medieval films! :suds:

I have only seen the first one and that was when it was in theaters still... and I only saw it because my sister wanted to see it at the time.

I thought the movie was a blast to watch once we got past the nazi hunting jews part but that part was such a mind blowing way to start a movie. I thoughts parts drug on needlessly in spots. One of his trademarks.

Inglorious Basterds gets better each time I watch it too be honest. And I love the opening sequence. I felt that it showed incredible intensity for such little going on, it was a scene all about dialogue and facial expressions. I loved it.

I don't mind those time loop movies/genre, but the last 20 or so minutes of Edge of Tomorrow REALLY killed it for me. Didn't like the ending AT ALL. I had a similar experience when I saw Law Abiding Citizen. I was sitting through it, really interested in how it was all going to unfold.... then the ending came and I was thoroughly disappointed. I specifically told people that I thought it was pretty good up until the last 20 or so minutes. Just awful way to end. Letting Butlers character win or not having anyone figure it out would have simply been a better ending in my opinion.

I am patiently waiting for part 2 one day

hope you saw it and that you liked it

So I ended up not finding a good link to Spiderman but I watched Budapest Hotel and loved it. I like quirky movies like that. Then last night I watched Sum of all fears again. I would put clear and present danger as the top one of his moves with Red October second. I liked Sum of All Fears but wasn't favorite. I think I like the series better as well.

Bad Times at the El Royale: 0/5 stars.

The third film I have ever given 0/5 stars. I hadn't given a movie a rating of 0/5 stars since maybe 2014. The other two films I've given 0/5 stars are Batman and Robin and Cloverfield.

Batman and Robin is better than Bad Times, which is slightly better than Cloverfield.

The Upside, I’d say it’s about a 7/10. I usually don’t like Kevin Hart movies but he was very toned down in this one and it was actually tolerable.

OJ Made In America probably blurs the line a little bit as its a mini-series documentary but if that counts then it would be my #1. There are some movies I still need to see from 2017 and 2018. 2017 in general was pretty stacked.

I think The Social Network is basically the perfect Gen X movie.
O.J. did not blur the line. It is a film, produced by a film studio, given a theatrical release.

I have not seen it yet, but everyone says something similar to your praise of it. I just saw the O.J. FX series right before it came out, so that may be a reason I didn't watch it.

You can watch the fx series then the espn one. I don't think the fx one would hold up if you watched the espn one first because the documentary was so much better.

Watched these movies for the first time...

Hell or High Water - I thought it was okay. I thought the acting was good, visuals were nothing special, no real emotional or character development throughout the film in my opinion and the story was meh... 6/10.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Enjoyable once you get past the first 20 minutes. The opening credit sequence started okay, but felt like it wouldn't end. There are definitely some really funny parts in it and it was interesting how it combined different parts of the movie while maintaining a hardcore slapstick style.... 7/10. Solid overall, but nowhere near my favorite in terms of comedy movies.

Holy Grails re-watchability is its strong suit. You can watch it 100 times and pick up something new every time.
