I wrote the rules with consultation with the owners of the site and their approval . We had issues at ESPN and since I was moderator I wanted to address those problems and I did . They were written in 2013 in August and have been available since then

In this matter I did consult the board and I went with the close majority to allow it . The rules for conduct were known to every one . I gave out several warnings about violations of the rules . They were ignored and in some cases people were debating me whether I should allow insults to be bantered back and forth .

Finally I had to close it down .

This is the last time I will address the matter with you . I have the authority to remove it . It is moderating and if people can’t follow the guidelines then what do you want ? Go to the politics forum , you and everyone who wants to talk about those issues and have at it and that moderator may let. You do what you want .

I have to consider everyone here and some of my choices won’t make everyone happy .

I am sorry you don’t like it but this only enforces what I felt about having the thread here in the first place. I should have never ever allowed it but I gave you all a chance then you screw me and then call me a tyrant to boot because you were undisciplined

@dad, First of all you are not a tyrant and in fact a damned good Mod. While I don't agree with the removal of the "Politics thread" I do support your decision to remove it for the reasons stated. I do have questions related to past or future topics that will come forward for discussion and are politically related.

Will we be able to discuss any name change issues that almost certainly come up again?

Bruce Allen and related discussions relating to the building of a new stadium are off limits too?

Will NFL related matters such as the "kneeling" issue and related players discussions no longer be allowed?

There are others, but I think the point is made concerning crossover topics. Thanks for you input on this.

Never heard of Office, Never watch Seinfeld, but from time to time when there's nothing else that interests me will pick-up Curb your Enthusiasm if it's already on. BTW: just had to search his name to get the name of his show on HBO because it's not something that I regularly do, so I couldn't remember it.

yes , 1) , yes 2) 3) if i open that it could go to politics and then i get shit for closing it down so not sure
