I want to get a few games to add to hubby's Christmas present. I know nothing about the games available. Any recommendations?

I can tell you with our 360, he was a fan of the Halo series. Enjoyed Call of Duty (can't remember which, but it had the zombie apocalypse side) and the Assassins Creed series.

Also was wondering if we will be able to transfer any of the games/movies stored on our 360?

Can’t transfer them. If you have the 360 disks they will play on the Xbox one.

Does he play online/Xbox live?
recommended games: Call of Duty Blck Ops 4, Red Dead Redemption 2, Battlefield V

Red Dead is an excellent single player game if he isn’t looking to play multiplayer. The other two are great online shooters.

Black ops 4 is likely the cod he would want
If he likes MMORPG the elder scrolls online is massive and enjoyable. It is such a subjective thing hard to recommend without knowing preference. I used to like Halo but it's dead to me now. Same with destiny.

A fun free to play is world of tanks

Totally depends on the guy. No idea why so many people on this board went Xbox this gen. It was pretty easy to see Sony was going to take over the market.

Anyways, it comes down to genre.

-If he likes Halo then get the newish Halo if he doesn't have it.
-Destiny 2 is still pretty big and you can probably find it on sale with Forsaken.
-Titanfall 2 is a good budget title
-Doom has awesome arcade style gameplay and should also be really cheap

All of my friends LOVE Assassins Creed Odyssey. I have yet to play it so I can't comment.

Dead game
Man, I'm so glad I'm not into online shooters but you're probably right. That 4 hour campaign is decent but if online is dead then avoid.

Why would you play on Xbox if you want high player count?

Best active online FPS is the new COD. It has multiple modes and people like the Battle Royale.

LMFAO you have to be kidding. US sales are not that far off to make a difference and Microsoft makes a superior product in Xbox live. Millions vs millions.....

People still do console wars?

Ps4 has sold 84 million consoles. Xbox1 has 40 million. And I loved God of War and my wife will probably be getting me Spider-man.

But anyways, my suggestion to the topic is Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I think solo games make better gifts. Its hard to gauge what online game someone will be into because someone's friends might pull them a different direction.

You just attempted to start a console war over Bs. European sales don't matter for US people, that is where Microsoft got spanked. My comment was that the numbers for online players in the US on Xb live exceeds PlayStation....

It wasn't my intent to start a console topic. I'm legitimately surprised by the idea that Microsoft and Sony are even in the US.

I was just noticing that almost everyone on this board is always asking for Xbox games and I found it odd.

I'm a graphics card away from leaving console gaming behind, tbh

I personally run both PC and Xbox One X, but from a "why would you" standpoint Microsoft is at 59m xbox live compared to PS only having 32m. That was the point i was making. Also last time any console numbers were reported in the US PS was just barely ahead of MS so the console market in the US is comparable and due to servers and latency that is all that should matter to US based customers. I dont care who prefers what console for what reason lol. PS4 launched with slightly better hardware, MS came back and topped PS4 Pro with the 1x it wont end and to the user it really wont make a difference who is leading the pack in the "war"

I have been a PC gamer since 95 i have gone back and forth between console and PC numerous times since then. Right now i am playing the same game on both which are on 2 different servers :D The important thing is I can use a controller at both and sit at my couch and be comfortable for both

I also heavily prefer Multiplayer games so that is another reason why i bring up the Xbox Live users. I dont like single player so much.

If someone is a single player user then it really shouldnt matter what sales are for either console but what games they want to play which ones have the exclusives they want. Personally i dont play/care about any console exclusive games

PS4's UI is cancer, too. Sony also has some fairly anti-consumer policies. I'm actually not even on PS+ at the moment because I generally find it to be a rip-off unless I'm heavily into an online game.

The big advantage to stepping away from PS to PC is frame rate at this point. I'm just worried about the micro-transaction culture surrounding PC gaming.

I think I've gotten too old for multiplayer games, though. Its impossible to fit into my life, atm.

Ha all depends, i get in and out of certain game types. I go from RPG to Sandbox to FPS but all have the ability to be online. I game with my family though so my Wife and Kids join in too, which adds fun to it when im not gaming with friends its with family usually. Actually working on a "Winter Festival" event to get my daughter some in game rewards right now until she is out for Christmas Break she doesnt have time to do it with homework and school etc, and i am at least 2-4x faster at it than her but she really wants the rewards that come with doing it daily while its going on.

I dont know if i will ever be too old for video games. (Going on 36)

If he likes cars at all, check out Forza Horizon 4. It's absolutely gorgeous on a 4k TV with the X.

And they just released a new Assassin's Creed game, Odyssey a couple of months ago. You could get him that and the one from last year, Origins (which you can probably find on sale for like 25 to 30 bucks now). I really loved Origins, best game I played last year and the best AC game imo in years. I haven't played Odyssey yet because Red Dead Redemption 2 (highly recommended) has all of my time.

BTW, do you already have the system? If not, you should look at some the bundle deals to save some cash. There's a few out there that come with a top game and allow you to pick another game from a list.
