I don’t think Dak is comfortable being sacked 50 times because every WR is covered on a stop route.
This is exhibit A of a white knight coming to Dak's rescue LOL . Some of the sacks are Dak's own fault, but no.. it is everyone else's fault.

The Dak apologist kill me. He has all the intangibles and he had an outstanding first year, but he was meh last year and has been meh this year. Let’s point to stats/facts if you guys won’t go with gut feel.

The Cowboys have the number 5 rushing offense and league’s most productive running back yet we rank 26th in points scored and 24th in passing yards. We also have one of the leagues top wide receivers and some nice compliments at receiver. Dak has 17 TDs and 8 INTs to go along with 12 fumbles (some he recovers). He does run the call decent and has 5 rushing TDs but those numbers are not winning numbers especially with the team he has. He also has 51 sacks. Some on the line but many on him for not throwing the ball away.

I don’t just blame him, I blame Howdy Doody and our OC for the way they called games early in the season.

Dak has intangibles and has ice in his veins in the 4th. Unfortunately, he really has not been anything but a below average to average QB his year. To say otherwise is just fooling yourself. We are 8-6 for a reason and that is not on the defense or Zeke or Cooper.

The last thing the Cowboys need is a athletic, accurate, durable QB who is still learning and who leaves it all of the field every week.

And yet the only time you post is after a lose to bash the coach or QB while propping up all others as a super star team just lacking a QB and head coach. Shit....I have no ideal what you see other than to spew you bias hate for the coach & QB..

50 plus years following this team and so-called fans like you make me sick. Hopefully we win a few more and your sorry ass opinions on this football team.\ remain somewhat limited cause you are the example of what is wrong with many cowboy fans. 5 wins and nothing from you but then this lose and here you are acting as if you are the higher authority and blasting you stupid ass opinions of this team.

andresrenee.......FUCK YOU!!C

cause their on any street corner....lets go get one.

while we're at it....kick beasley to the curb too. That dude would rather look back at the QB for such a bad throw, nevermind he coulda stayed with the play and caught the rebound and made a play. Smith too....that SOB is uninspired and holds all the time. The center sucks, guards too but it's all Dak cause he holds the ball to long trying to make a play. The media tells us so

Dallas had a bad day. Terrible, actually. I think when the talent is there, but something like this happens, you can be sure there are internal factors that we aren't privy to at play.

Not saying Dak is not our Franchise QB. We need to determine within the next year, if he is or not. How is that bashing him?? That is a fact!!

you are correct sir but this town has always had 1/2 the fan base that didn't like the QB if his name wasn't Staubach. The media sways a lot of attention towards the warts and when this team loses...bet your last dollar many point at the QB or coach or both. It's never the players or the other team. This thread after they lost for the first time in 6 weeks supports what I'm saying. Couple of these astute football opinions ONLY show up here when the team losses....and BOY they have much to say. Fact is, this team was 3-5 and it was most certainly Dak & Garrett then, they win 5 in a row and it was inspite of these guys... now they lose a game and here we go again with Dak will never win and Garrett lack of in game adjustments.

TRUTH IS....there are Dallas fans that are darn happy to see this team taking the correct steps towards becoming good again. This year just might have a few more wins and dare I say a playoff win BUT make no mistake, when they lose it's Dak, Garrett and we'll never win with them. FUNNY PART? Most of these football astute folks are early 30's if that. Now what the hell do they know about winning playoff games and championships as a Dallas Cowboy fan?

Dak has warts, he needs to grow quickly and make some improvements like now if this team is going to make a little noise this year. He was drafted in the 4th round for a reason and may never develope in to a top 5 QB, but with this up and coming team....he'll work his ass off to become a winner that leads this team and will get better. That is worth a longer look at him and not define what he'll never do as a player. It's not time to quit on him nor this team. Some of us know this season isn't over and are buckled in for the ride....cheering the star and every player wearing the star.

Go Cowboys!!

define franchise QB and how many of those are running around the league. Is Mahomes a franchise QB? Goff? Wentz?
Was Romo a franchise QB? How long to you wait b4 you move on and draft another? 3 years? 4?

Romo was a franchise QB, McNabb, Rivers, Wilson. You dont have to be Tom Brady to be a franchise QB IMO. Win, get to playoffs often, don't be the thing that holds the team back. Long term consistent good play. I want to feel confident, when my team gets behind by 10 to 15 points, my QB can come back and win it. I dont see that right now with Dak. I hope Dak is our franchise QB.

We have a lot of really good players right now it seems. I know Qb is a top priority position. I’m not a capologist so I don’t know the ramifications of signing him to a huge contract. I mean does it cost us 2 or 3 of our best players.

I think the whole concept of a "franchise qb" was demonstrated to be a farce with the way the Eagles won the SB with Foles last year. Conversely, Aaron Rodgers is considered a "franchise qb" and for that he has the exact same number of SuperBowl rings as does Foles.

Would I take Rodgers over Foles if I were building a team? Sure! But having what many consider to be a franchise qb doesn't equate to success, and having what most would consider a non-franchise qb doesn't equate to failure.

My only concern with Dak's upcoming contract is that we don't end up back in a position that hamstrings the team. Dak plays hard and already has a couple of Dallas records in less than three years. Right now, he gives this team the best probability of success, and anyone who thinks otherwise has been brainwashed by the fantasy football - if you don't win your league this year, you can just start over the next year with a whole new team, including qb.

Dak isn't going anywhere. Jerry has already stated so specifically. I just hope that the farm isn't sold to keep him.

The thing that I really keep thinking about is Tyron playing hurt,Martin hurt (out)and Frederick being out. And now the LG being out. This is not a good sign for the rest of the season. I know it is next man up,but it is hard to replace All-pro players with career backups and expect an offense to be good.

That is the best thing to do, but you know there will be questions about what went wrong. It's a good idea to pay attention to what constituted the weaknesses. You need the info for future reference.

Actually most of the time it does. Look at the playoff teams this year. Most have what we would call their franchise QB's. Not all. Dallas is in the grey area. Many, especially the Dallas Cowboys probably consider him their franchise QB. Many others do not see him at that stature yet. Draft investment is also taken into account to define franchise QB.
I think the rest of this year and next is what is going to define who Dak is as a QB. He's better this year in almost all catagories than he was last season. Not sure what accounts for the easier passing game. Maybe with that factored in, he is almost the same as last year. I don't think there are better options out there at the moment. Maybe they could draft a guy later in the draft to prepare if Dak doesn't improve.

Good points.

I try to base it on the next 5-7 yrs. How many teams are better at Qb for the next 5-7 yrs if everyone keeps what they have. It’s hard to do it that way with some. For example , I would rather have Dak for 5-7 over Brady for 1. But who knows how long he will play. Then you have the young guys that are hard to judge like Darnold and Rosen. So what teams are for sure better at Qb over that span. Of course I won’t throw my list out there but I would just say we are around 10th. As far as Qb right now, I think we are in the 15ish range.
