They reach an injury settlement. Kayvon Webster went through the same thing last year with the Rams, right before the season started.

I'm not ready to call the books closed on Emmanuel Sanders. There is heavy speculation and rightfully so... We're going in a younger direction right now at WR, but Sanders would be huge to have around to learn from, and he really is the energy bunny of this team.

With the achilles' injury that changes things. It will really depend on recovery. If he needs a second surgery etc. I'm sure not even the team has made the decision right now if they will be cutting him or keeping him. I've helped/known players who recover from achilles injuries in 8 months then there are others who take nearly a full year, and others who never recover.

Edgerrin James and Victor Cruz are a prime example of someone who was never the same. Dan Marino recovered pretty quickly compared to the norm. (among others) So it just really depends.

Kayvon Webster had to have two surgeries on his last year and was never really good to go this year.

Remember, Demaryius Thomas tore his in February early in his career and spent time on the PUP then came back during the season. Wasn't fully healthy until the next year, but it just really depends.

As Nick noted above, the money will really be the factor. IS 10 plus mil worth giving a guy who could start the season on the PUP? If it wasn't for the injury I would fully expect him back next year to build around a young WR core, but this really throws a wrench into it.

This will be a long thought out move by Denver.

On the other hand Emmanuel Sanders could also restructure his deal knowing and understanding the injury. He isn't going to get a huge contract from another team coming off an achilles injury. I thin he will have to restructure (paycut) or take a release and sign a one year deal elsewhere.

Folks gotta remember we have a little bit of power in this one with the injury status of Sanders. He isn't going to have teams lining up throwing big money at him if he is released as the chances of him missing the start of the season are pretty good considering how late he tore it this year. Achilles' can be brutal for a career going forward, but players have come back normal from them. Only time will tell.

They don't need an injury settlement I'm 90% sure. His next year is an option. No guaranteed money.

My understanding on Sanders' deal is that the only remaining guarantees on his contract are his prorated signing bonus from when he first signed the deal. However outside of that, no guaranteed money left if they move on from him prior to free agency starting. If he still is on the roster when FA opens, a chunk of his contract becomes injury guaranteed.

So... not on this team most likely if that all is true.

No matter what we decide to do with Sanders we need to bring in another vet WR that has leadership qualities. I would like to restructure Sanders and potentially extend him for a year or two but sweeten the deal with incentives.

Ok that is different then. I am not sure how his contract is set up with the option etc, good catch if true.

Malik Jackson expected to be cut after season. Don’t get excited though. Elway will have no interest after his comments after leaving Denver.

We got his best years anyway.

Move on from Sanders (sorry but achilles over 30... and one year left on deal... he pry isn't viable until 2020 season when he will hit FA anyways) and use that money on Golden Tate to play Z in 2 WR sets opposite Sutton/Patrick and in 3 WR sets can use him in slot or Z (depending on patrick/hamilton). Expected to demand almost exact contract Sanders had this year in terms of yearly pay

Waste of money if Case Keenum is trying to throw him the ball.

Sadly the only way we keep Manny is on a much much smaller contract. It’s possible but unlikely. He may want to move on himself. It was really important with him playing with a well known proven QB everytime he hit FA. One year signing an offer sheet with New England. Pitt matched. Following year headed to Denver with Manning. He was always quoted speaking highly of playing with big time QB’s. Between the injury, money and lack of offense I think all parties may agree after the season to part ways.

Golden opportunity for Hamilton and Patrick here. How they play the last three games will determine a lot. Until then wejust don’t really know what will happen. All speculation but we can take a good guess. As always some tough decsions this offseason.

I'm not a GM but, if I don't have what I feel is QBOTF. or another PFM type FA QB signing. I'd move on from Sanders in 19. $$$ age

With two games left, the Broncos currently have the 12th pick in the draft ..

We have the highest pick of all teams with 6 wins .. Arizona and Oakland each have 3 wins, which put them out of reach .. in parenthesis are the games remaining for each team

1) Az 3-11
2) Oak 3-11

3) Jets 4-10 ( GB, NE )
4) 9ers 4-10 ( Bears, Rams )
5) Jags 4-10 ( Houston, Miami )
6) Atl 5-9 ( Carolina, TB )
7) Lions 5-9 ( Min, GB )
8) Giants 5-9 ( Indy, Dal )
9) Bucs 5-9 ( Dal, Atl )
10) Buf 5-9 ( NE, Miami )
11) GB 5-8-1 ( Jets, Lions )

12) Denver 6-8

We've got the best shot at hurdling GB, as their remaining games look very winnable .. Atlanta could realistically win at least one of those games ..

We could end up in the top 10

I like this

That 3rd play @ :20 - the way Haskins nonchalantly steps up into the pocket and completes the pass - he looks very natural doing that ..

I'm all about trading up to get Haskins. I can't see him getting past the Giants at 10. Then again, I have a seen mocks calling for Denver to end up with Haskins as late as 17 overall.

Metcalf has a neck injury that would concern me. CBS is brutal with mocks. Did they forget we have Sutton whonis very similiar? Quit reading their crap! Lol They are awful.

Haskins is my #1 guy right now, but we won’t get him. We won’t be able to move up as high as he will end up going.

Grier over Lock.

A lot will change between now, the combine, and Pro Days.

We can move up as high as we want. Elway has no margin for error just get it right. Thats why they pay him $5MM a year to make the right decision.

Teams have gone from #25 to #10

Denver can build around a QB all they want but will never get above .500 until we have our QBOTF.
