Well that didn't take long. One sog for the vehicle and it's a goal. Let's go Flyers!

Game over. I'm done! I'm not going to let this pathetic team get me riled up. Like I said two pages ago, go all in for Hughes.

Uh, no. If we finish dead last (or even close) this season, it will be one of the greatest tank-jobs in sports history. Then you can forget about criticizing the Pens for tanking all of those years to build a winner.

I'm sorry, but with this current group of players, we should be a top ten team in this league. Just look at the skill Laughton showed to score his 1st period goal. He's a fucking 4th line player for us...Lol

We came out with more urgency in this game, but still refuse to cover people in the prime scoring areas of our defensive zone.

Hakstol seems to realize he's about to be fired, shaking the lines up and pulling Stolie only 10 minutes into the game...Lol

Do we respond in the 2nd period? I don't think it matters for Hak, but I'd love to get some points out of this game. We're more than capable man to man and as a team.

I’m not saying go all in for Hughes, but they’ve got a pretty serious hole to dig themselves out of to make the playoffs at this point. I’m not sure making desperation moves makes any sense this season.

Giroux is the top scorer in the Nhl over the last 8 seasons combined. Voracek is one of the best playmakers in the game. Couturier is a perennial Selke candidate that is now blooming offensively too. Simmonds and JvR are good for 30 goals virtually every season. Ghost had 65 points last season and was the top producing power play defenseman overall. Provy had 17 goals from defense, which led the league, and looked a lot like he's soon competing for the Norris. Guys like Raffl and Laughton are solid role players that can go up and down the line-up. Konecny, Patrick, Sanheim and Hagg have all shown a ton of potential as youngsters. The goaltending is injury prone and average at best, but that is the only real team weakness when everyone is playing their game.

This team is way, way better than where they are now and that's why the coach has to go. They aren't listening to him and have quit playing, which obviously makes them look much worse man to man and as a team.

Not desperation moves, but definitely fire the coaching staff and maybe tweak things once or twice via trades that don't blow the team up.

At this rate, Simmonds will probably be dealt at the deadline too. Looks a lot like he doesn't want to play here anymore. That's fine, we'll wave goodbye to you soon enough and get some nice pieces in return.

I believe FFF said it earlier, if you do it once, you can do it again. I believe that is especially true about our young talent. Patrick had 17 points in 25 games to close out last season. Ghost with his 65 points and Provy with his 17 goals. Konecny has lit it up at times too. These guys can all be way better than they look right now.

Well, that's probably the last time we see Dave Hakstol. A 1-5 loss at Vancouver, our 11th in the last 14 games. Interestingly, he calls a timeout late in this one and pulls the goalie during a power play while down multiple goals, something he failed to do just the night before.

We actually played well in the 3rd period of this one, but it was too little, too late and the power play still can't connect.

Like it Fuckin mattered.......

6 on 4 and they still couldn't find the net.

Changes need to be made to save face on this team period. They obviously ain't going to amount to a hill of shit this season.

A coaching change could do wonders for this team, this season even. Look at the Oilers with our old pal Hitchcock at the helm. I say Hakstol is not behind the bench come Tuesday. Even if you have to assign a temporary replacement like our Ahl coach Scott Gordon, I don't even care.

Every one of those idiots in a suit behind the bench needs to go.....
Not one of these coaches are getting it done....This team is mentally broken.
They can't even figure out what their issue is, but it is obvious, they've given up on this system.

Stolie is injured now too, so we need Elliott back asap and also it would be nice if Neuvy could play a few games a month and not get injured.

These guys are probably getting hurt because our players in front of them aren't helping out enough in the defensive zone.

You leave opposing forwards wide open in the slot and it forces our goalie to strain to make an excellent save, over and over again. It's the same thing with turnovers and then odd-man rushes coming back our way.

Got a text from a buddy saying that the Flyers will befitting Hakstol sometime tomorrow. The Flyers have been in contact with Joel Quinevile and he has accepted the Flyers job. He will take over after the holiday. Keep you posted for any other updates.

Three different places having Hakstol relieved sometime today. Q, that part is another story. If he really doesn't want to start until after the holidays...that means an interim. That means even more time treading water from six feet under.

And the roster is still a mess. The more you look at it the more it keeps getting driven home.
There is currently no clear choice to play goal at the NHL level.
There are no defined D pairings.
There are no real set lines, set PK or PP.

Regardless, the Flyers are more likely to not make the playoffs no matter how hard they turn things around than they are to make the playoffs. At this rate, the hope is that they make a good enough showing to sell some tickets for the stadium game and draw enough viewers. Only a major change in the coaching staff and roster are going to make those things happen.

Does your buddy have a line on a goalie?

Done deal.
Hak gone Q in
I posted this around 9 am this morning. I just thought the Flyers would announce it on Monday. My question is when will Q start his debut? My understanding is after the holiday, but then who will coach the next few games?
