Duke has the #2 adjusted offense in the nation according to both Pomeroy & Torvik but there is a glaring issue. Duke has scored nearly 100 more points in transition than on spot up jumpers despite 20 fewer possessions.

The Blue Devils continue to play defense at a level not seen around Durham since Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith graduated in 2011. Duke, the second-most efficient defense in the country, held Wake Forest to just .867 points per possession after blocking thirteen shots and stealing seven balls.
At 8.21 blocks per game, nearly two more blocks per night than the second place Auburn Tigers (6.23), Duke's defense doesn't just apply intense pressure on ball-handlers but can clean up when opposing players get past the first line of defense. Playing the passing lanes has propelled the team to second in the country in steals per game (11.29).
Nearly 20 of Duke's opponents' possessions end in either a block or a steal, a wild stat.
