Now that it is becoming a real possibility the Chargers will secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs, with it comes the real possibility of an AFCCG being played in a 20,000 seat stadium.

I'll just go out on a limb say the league won't be bringing in the the blimp for aerial shots for the TV broadcast showing an NFL stadium that is smaller than High School stadiums in Texas.

The whole chargers relocation debacle will be brought back into the spotlight and the league doesn't want that. More bad pub

Fortunately for the league... the Chargers only have a 26% chance to win the division per FPI. Just went from NOPE, to pay attention now, however.

Who the fuck cares what FPI says? It's pretty simple, if the Chiefs lose in Seattle and the Chargers win their last 2 they are the number one seed.

And, I believe the Seahawks will be favored to beat the Chiefs and the Chargers will be favorites in their last two games so it's actually the most likely scenario.

An upset is going to have to happen for the Chargers to not get the number one seed

People who care about data and facts. You don't get to just make stuff up, man.

Facts? Those are made up predictor systems ... how are predictors = facts? Facts are things that actually happen, not guesses

Because they are verifiable with reality (aka falsifiable) and similar outcomes.

If you have 1000 games, you give a 70% chance of team A winning over B, and they win 720 times out of 1000, your model is doing fine. This is like saying 538 is bad because it's stats, and scary and stuff. FootballOutsiders ≠ people shooting the shit.

It's just data man, it's not a big deal. Entirely possible the Chiefs fuck up and that's that. I am not taking anything for granted after the Fuller news.

They may move that game to the Rose Bowl or the Coliseum.

Even worse, we could have both championship games I’m LA. Imagine that. The worst NFL city in the league hosting both.

I wouldn’t call losing in Seattle a fuck up. Not an easy place to win....

unless your the Cards.
Well, when the data (or at least in the conversation) thinks you're the best team in the NFL all year, I hold them to high standards, but I hear ya. I don't think I am at all out of bounds to have very high expectations, however.

(there's also the quirky possibility of the game not mattering to Seattle at all)

Very true. They may not be playing for anything.

I think its more unlikely that the Chargers beat the Ravens and Broncos then what happens in Seattle.

Chargers and KC are both pretty beat up. Wouldn't be surprised if both teams 'backed in' to the playoffs a little bit.

The league will make sure that doesn't happen.

Don’t worry, the Chargers will drop a game they should win, the Chiefs will lose to Seattle but still win the division and the Patriots will end up the number one seed.
This is a very NFL thing to happen...

So much so I am tempted to bet on it, not matter how stupid the math of it sounds in my head for all of those things to happen at once. These fucking Chiefs and Chargers, lmao...
