Why do some WR 1s burn good defenses but not others? Why do some WR 2s get shut down by some good defenses but not others?
Recently I have looked at two divisions (AFC East and NFC East), and the AFC East is one complete mess. I don't know who the number one or two options are.
On the other hand, the NFC East has one, ODB, and then there's the rest. Who is Wentz's go-to guy? Who is Dak's? (and yes I know what Cooper just did, but he isn't consistent). Washington? Alex Smith certainly loved his buddy Davis. Reed was getting absolutely shunned. But for WRs, between Doctson, Crowder, Richardson, and Harris it's hard to know who the number one is/was there.
Let me us Hill as an example. Hill goes off against LAC (week 1 though), NE, Arizona, LAR, and Baltimore. Arizona and Baltimore are good pass defenses, and so is LAC. NE and LAR (they get turnovers) are not though. But Hill does not do much against SF, Denver (either time), Jacksonville(a tough defense at the time), Cincinnati (shocking), Cleveland (a decent defense), and Oakland.
