Hoop’s Villain, Reality’s Hero
Romano hasn't failed at starting to this point.
See line 1.
Not saying he can't start, but its rare to come out of the R5 and start day 1 for an MLB team.

Yep, Daniel's said he is being converted to a reliever. So, I guess there is something about his makeup that tells them he can't be successful as a starter.See line 1.

I never got why they wouldn’t get a retractable roof as well. People don’t like scorching heat just like freezing cold
???You can blame GWB for that.
He was the mouthpiece of a large group of owners. He only owned a small chunk of the team. You can blame GWB for that.
But could he have been the reason? I don't knowHe was the mouthpiece of a large group of owners. He only owned a small chunk of the team.

A lot of people say he was real vocal about saying “baseball is an outdoor game and should be played outside”.
The decision was obviously made by some out of touch rich dude who wouldn’t have had to be outside in the near deathly heat all the time.
It’s one thing to be in the stands, but being on the field probably feels twice as bad. The new stadium can’t get here soon enough.
He has mostly been a NL pitcher and that goes a long way with JD.
What did you guys expect for FA pitcher signings? Morton signs 2 years 30 Million. We get Lynn for 3 years at same price. He will eat innings and reasonably projects as a 3 Rd starter. Is peripherals improved drastically with Yanks and coming off TJS may even do better? And he is not that old.
Just sounds like moaning and groaning and negativity to me.
This was not a bargain basement move
I dont see it as bargain basement, just a bad move. Probably a substantial overpay. I think we could find another guy somewhere, to eat innings and pitch to a 5+ era that might not block any young guys and wouldn't cost 10 million per.
Choo has always been tradable if we eat enough of his contract. That is the sticking point. We would be better off spending the money we are giving Lynn on eating Choo's contract in a trade and going with a cheaper option at SP.F he has a 5+ ERA then of course it is an overpay. Some might say go cheaper if you think the Rangers are irrelevant for 3 years and you can not flip him.
Perception of the future is huge in the trading of contracts.
I believe this has been a huge factor in us not being able to trade Choo to unblock a guy like Calhoun. I think Choo has outperformed his future perception as an aging star much more so than an Albert P but this perception remains-" Choos performance will slide drastically as he ages." Offensively it has not. The only valid point is that he is below average defensively.
Back to Lynn- I Would like to think we would be relevant in 2020 which is of course an unknown. If Lynn pitches well then this is a good move for a middle of the rotation starter. If he pitches well and we can flip him if 2020 is a bust then I am fine with that too

There is no comparison between Josh's situation at that time and Choo's now. None at all.Of course he is tradeable just like Josh was with Halos eating the whole contract.
Not saying your route is wrong if it is about helping Willie Takes development but your move makes us a worse team this year and maybe for 2020. To me if Lynn performs over a 10 Million level we have options
Trading Choo though could be looked upon as a sunk cost though regardless of what we throw in.
Main debate is whether we overpaid for Lynn. That remains to be seen but like said he made progress with Yanks even in their hitter friendly park
