Does Saban want to slow down this game with Oklahoma, or speed it up? what does he want to do.

saban wants to push it in real deep like, but OU won't be standing for that nonsense.

OU wins by at least 13.
OU could very well win this game, but I would be shocked if it was by 13 or more. Since Saban arrived at Alabama, (going off of memory here) I believe the worst margin of loss was 14 points.

Bama is going to come into the game with something OU hasnt seen this year, a top ranked defense. Sabans gameplan will be to try and play a ball control offense and turn his defense loose to capitalize on mistakes OU makes. If the defense cant slow down OU, then you will see Tua and our corp of receivers and tight ends surgically rip that swiss cheese defense of OU's apart.

Honestly, from what I saw this year, OU should have the most rested defense in the country. I dont think they really played much this year, based on most of the scores I saw.

Wasn’t that 14 point loss to OU?

IMHO this is the first CNS led team that has the versatility to play any style they choose. I honestly feel like he could come out in the Winged T or Air Raid with equal success.

a lot of people dont understand this,, Saban is a proud guy,, he isnt going to just conceed that Oklahoma and Murray are too good to stop, he will take it as a personal challenge to figure out a way to defend it..
and as a hole card, release the offense to do its thing.

oh, and the first time we hand the ball off and the runner gets stopped for no gain or a yard,, dont be surprised,, all this talk of Oklahoma not playing defense can come back to bite us.. they still have 11 out there.

Actually I think I heard something to the effect they were on the field for the 2nd most snaps in the country this season

Bama is in my head. I just don't see OU's secondary stopping Tua and those damn bastard receivers like Jeudy and Waddle.
While I agree with you, it ain't like your defense hasn't seen good receivers this year. Besides seeing that stable of receivers OU has in practice all the time, Texas, WVU, Okie Lite, Texas Tech and Iowa State had pretty damn good groups of receivers. And a couple of those had QBs that could actually throw it to them. And you guys didn't really stop those so your concern is valid.

How do you feel about your offense vs the Bama defense?

Utah, South Carolina, and Oklahoma have beaten Saban's tide by 14. South Carolina was the only one to beat them by 14 in a meaningful game.

Being on the field and playing defense are opposites of the coin. Giving up 32 points a game isnt playing defense, its fielding 11 men to slow down the other team slightly. When you defense is ranked towards the bottom of the FBS level, it spells problems.

About the same as we did when we went up against that monster defense Georgia had last year. Confident yet nervous.

Preaching to the choir my friend, every OU fan knows our defense is the worst ever.

Just pointing it out to one of your fans who apparently didnt know this.

I am looking forward to this game, mainly because I think, for once, or offense is capable of standing toe to toe with Oklahoma if a shootout occurs. Question is, will Oklahoma be able to score as much on our defense as we can on theirs.

I’m not seeing the great defense of previous Saban teams. Bama better be prepared to put up some points. This one will be entertaining.

Bama should come out to bury OU. Their weakness is that secondary. Don’t change anything. It would be a mistake to limit possessions. Bama is the better team, more possessions favor Bama

It wasnt to start the year. They have grown during the season to be a lot better than they were. Still a top 10 defense ranking wise overall. It will be the best defense OU has seen all year.

I agree this isn't the best defense Saban has put on the field this year.

You’re correct! I forgot Bama didn’t want to be in the sugar bowl that year my apologies

I would love to see that except I dont wanna tire out our defense. They will be rested, but we are not as deep as in the past years, so the fall off to second and third stringers, especially in the secondary, is a problem.
A lot is going to depend on Tua's health. If his ankle is 100% and his knee is good, this could be a game for the ages. I cant wait.

It still counts.

South Carolina beat them by 14 when Bama was undefeated and ranked number 1. Game was of more consequence, but they all still count.

I’m just not sure what Bama fans want OU fans to think. On paper Bama is a Two TD favorite and should be... does that mean OU is gonna lie down? Fuck that nonsense....Boomer Sooner
